It sounds exactly like what would happen if the singer from Beady Eye teamed up with the guitarist from the Seahorses.

This is a solid burn

I like it. Songs are catchy, Liam sounds great, and John is always an incredible guitarist. If people were expecting something other than John Squire and Liam Gallagher sounding different than normal, I don't know why you bothered.

The question want ‘do you like it?’ it was ‘what do you think of it?’ There is a difference.

No, there really isn’t. What I think of it is that I like it.

That’s as maybe but it’s entirely possible to heap critical acclaim onto something without actually liking it yourself. Plenty of things can be objectively good without being personally enjoyable.

This is Reddit. Someone asked for opinions on the album. I gave my opinion. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.

Less than the sum of it's parts tbh..it sounds like both have their own style and they weren't interested in integrating it into a cohesive whole.

I liked it. The songs were decent if a bit predictable. The vocals were good, at least he’s giving Liam something to do with the melodies. The drums and bass on it are really great. The only thing is there’s really just one guitar sound, that chunky Strat. There’s no really variety there.

Sure there’s a few other rhythm guitars here and there but for the most part it leans heavily on the Strat. Plus I feel his playing isn’t quite as flashy as it used to be, maybe not a bad thing.

Really it sounds like it was recorded in a week and mixed in a week.

Very underwhelming. I didn’t think it would be any good, but I really wanted it to be. It’s the songs. There’s no fire. No imagination. It just sounds tired. Squire’s a great guitar player, but his reputation is built off two albums (being charitable) from 30 odd years ago. Loads of people are great guitar players, not many are great songwriters too. He’s not one of them. It sounds like The Seahorses, but not as good. And that’s not great.

Liam sounds like Liam.

I thought it was just okay on streaming but got the vinyl cheap and played it and it completely changed my view. The guitar and vocals just hit another level. It’s really more of a 70s and 80s vibe when most people were probably hoping for something more like Oasis or Liam. John wrote all the songs though so it’s a lot more of his influence. Mars to Liverpool and I’m a Wheel are my favorites.

I really like it!

its pretty meh - "well it worked 20 years ago, so lets try the same thing again". Am a big John Squire fan and feel kinda disappointed he's done with with LG, dude is a one trick pony.

I like 3 songs on it. The rest is alright.

I really wanted to like it, but a lot of it was filler. I still say LG’s best post-Oasis song is Everything’s Electric

Really loved the two singles. The rest of not that memorable and I generally prefer Squire when his guitar is Byrds-y rather than blues-y.

(The cycle that went from cynicism to optimism to disappointment all happened in about a month.)

Unfortunately after a few listens, I think it’s kind of ‘meh’…..

Terrible album. Not worth listening to
