Jamie xx new album speculations (updated)
Thanks to u/wns2022 (cheers!) I decided to revive the speculative album discussion thread as we get closer to the actual album release.
So yea, what do you think about what will end up in the tracklist of the recent singles?
What is the potential album title? What will the album cover look like? What features can we expect? Will we see any of the past singles on the album?
As in my old post, I'll include a list of IDs he's been playing out since 2019. Remember, none of the IDs are guaranteed to be Jamie's / to be released. Please let me know in the comments if I missed any.
THIS POST WILL BE UPDATED EVERY NOW AND THEN.

Really hoping this one makes it on: https://youtu.be/CZRb10VEWRI?t=181
God bless whoever recorded and uploaded all of that. I was there and it was one of the best sets of my life. He went 30 minutes longer and he played a version of Gosh that had the bass 5x
Feel It, All You Children, Pale Blue Dot, All We Gotta Do, Breathe.
If there's one single that makes it on the album, I think it's gonna be Baddy or Kill Dem. I feel like they complement his unreleased tracks the most.
Let Me Give you love fucking slaps! Thankfully it exists in Youtube
Nice post u/djbiffstruck, thank you! What do you think his release strategy will be? Just drop it? Or announce it in advance? I mean, he's still on YOUNG, which is a pretty unconventional label, but Jamie's a lot bigger now than he was when he started In Colour. So I guess he'll announce it 1 month in advance and he'll drop "Treat Each Other Right" as the next single! And I think he will publish the album before the festival tour in summer, so people can enjoy the songs and celebrate them even more at the huge events.
But: The good thing about speculating about the future is that the opposite is always true. :-)
PS: What's with the Shangri-La's track. Could be his, no? The drone synth is pretty Jamie-ish. (Gosh, etc)
i think "Treat Each Other Right" will be the next single too, probably after his debut on his new club at the end of the month.
Music video was being shot earlier this month for treat each other right so probz next single indeed
I think I'm really out of the loop - when's the album being released?
there is no release date yet! but it should be about in the finishing phase now
it will come out in June and you heard it first here
source: i promise you bro
PS: i wish i was joking but i'm not
Doubt it but I’d love to be wrong.
I’m guessing we’ll see a release date of 3ish months after it’s announced.
This is a hell of a promise to make, but I hope you're right!!!
And this is solo Jamie? Exciting.
yes it is! Just about time ahah
When is the XX releasing a new album??? Haven’t they been working on one?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they took some time off before coming back together considering the touring and multiple solo albums. Maybe 2026?
They were in the studio a few months ago, but realistically it'll be the end of the year at the earliest, more likely to be early-mid 2025.
You'd assume that with Jamie's album still to come out, and Oliver/Romy continuing to solo tour their albums/material, that nothing much will happen until after the summer.
Idk about a name for "ID (help me with name ideas please)" but for some reason the vocal sample sounds to me like the end of Nights in White Satin: https://youtu.be/gqaiS-sDQyY?t=362 XD
Pretty sure Baddy on the Floor will be in there, he's rinsing it atm
Not sure what will make the cut but the last time he dropped an album it was right before Hard Summer, and he is playing this year
This is awesome!
Hi all, after reading about the entry stamps, what are the odds that Jamie will do a listening session or a soft release of the album on the last day of The Floor?
