Bafta TV awards 2024: the best and worst looks on the red carpet
The Bafta TV awards took place on Sunday evening at London’s Royal Festival Hall, with a host of celebrities gracing the red carpet amidst soaring temperatures in the UK.
Stars of The Crown, Succession and Happy Valley attended the awards ceremony. Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Lancashire and Sharon Horgan were among those nominated for lead actress while Brian Cox, Dominic West and Steve Coogan were some of the names competing for lead actor. The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki and Lesley Manville were both nominated for supporting actress.
Daring cut-outs, red, shimmering textures and sheer fabrics were among the big trends on the red carpet.

Red was clearly the shade of choice for the grande dames of the night as Dame Harriet Walter, nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Succession, wore a pared-back red gown by Suzannah.

Joe Lycett - who won Best Entertainment Performance - looked spectacular in a silver ensemble created by Yashana Malhotra. It was made to resemble the costumes worn by Queen Elizabeth I after Lycett promised to attend the ceremony dressed as the Tudor monarch if his aunts gained more than 100,000 Instagram followers (at the time time of writing, they have 248,000).
