In the 2015 film, Advantageous, where do the host bodies come from?
SPOILER ALERT
The main character flicks through a catalogue of women that she could potentially look like/become if she goes through with the transference procedure.
Freya Adams' character also asks if she was another person before, and is ignored. I'm wondering if this was answered by anyone involved in the film.
I don't know about any kind of official answer, but I inferred that they had built up some kind of "DNA database" to clone bodies from. Where those donors came from wasn't specifically addressed, but you could imagine them taking stem cells or whatever from people who donated their sperm or eggs, or perhaps being taken from (presumably fresh) cadavers that were donated "to science."
Sort of like that old lady whose body was used to test the effects of bomb blasts when the family had been hoping it would be used to search for a cure to Alzheimer's.
