Some celebrities are lucky in love, and have lasting relationships. Others have married multiple times while searching for the right partner. Elizabeth Taylor, well-known for her beauty, mysterious eye-color and incredible talent, was married eight times to seven different men (she married Richard Burton, the love of her life, twice). Most of her relationships never made it to marriage.

Taylor's third husband was Mike Todd, and the two would sometimes go out with their friends, Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher. The four would even go on vacations together. When Taylor lost her husband, Mike Todd, Eddie Fisher was there to comfort the star. Prior to her famous love affair with Richard Burton, Taylor was first caught in a scandal when she became involved with her close friend, Debbie Reynolds' husband.

During an interview with People, Reynolds spoke about her close friendship with Taylor. The two even resumed their longtime friendship, which had ended for a time after the Cleopatra actor "took" Reynolds' husband "without an invitation". Taylor and Fisher were married in 1959 and divorced in 1964.

Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor met and became friends when they were young. Opening up about their friendship, Reynolds also told People about Taylor's star power.

"I went to MGM when I was around 17, and Liz (Taylor) was there too, but she was already a star." The two stars were close friends at one time. "We were friends for years and years. But we had a lapse of time when she took Eddie (Fisher) to live with her because she liked him, too. She liked him well enough to take him without an invitation!"

Debbie Reynolds' son, Todd Fisher, told Yahoo! Entertainment, "My mother was best friends with Elizabeth Taylor. Some people don't know that. They went to school together on the backlot at MGM with Roddy McDowall and Margaret O'Brien and they were all best friends."

Reynolds' son Todd Fisher told Yahoo! Entertainment, "There was outrage" about Eddie Fisher leaving Debbie Reynolds to be with Elizabeth Taylor.

"My dad had like contracts canceled for morality clauses... It literally ruined his career. I mean, it just wiped him out. Liz kind of came out a little better, sort of unscathed."

"My father left my mother for Elizabeth Taylor. A lot of people were mad about that," said Todd Fisher. "A lot of people were like, 'So your dad left the good girl for the bad girl'... Liz made no bones about being the bad girl. So when my mother was put in the position of being humiliated by my father... my mother was a classy person," per The Daily Post.
