JoJo Siwa released her new single Karma in April 2024 and since its release, fans have been discussing her viral dance move. JoJo recently made an appearance on Access Daily with Mario and Kit in New York City. During the same, the Dance Moms alum taught Mario Lopez her signature move, and the video went viral on X, with many fans reacting to it.

The now-viral dance move sees JoJo Siwa aggressively stomping her foot while vigorously hammering her fist as her song plays in the background. In the video, Mario Lopez is seen trying to learn the move from Siwa, who was dressed like a construction worker.

With Karma, JoJo reportedly has started her paradigm shift from a children's music star to a pop sensation. The April 2024 song has upbeat choreography done with the help of Richy Jackson, Lady Gaga's creative director.

After the clip of JoJo Siwa teaching Mario Lopez her signature move from the song Karma, was shared on social media, fans took to X to discuss their reactions. Noting that the move was "ugly," a fan said that despite that, Siwa was making it "her thing." Another fans said that they were watching the video against their will, as they alluded to the video being shared everywhere.

"It’s such an ugly dance move yet she’s really making it her thing, huh?" one fan tweeted.
"Pls I’m so done seeing jojo siwa against my will lmao," a fan tweeted.

Other fans echoed similar sentiments with many claiming that they couldn't stop watching the dance, despite hating it.

"I hate to see it...but also cant look away," another fan said.
"Hollywood pushing this girl with all her might.. they saying “keep dancing it’ll catch on..” which is a bad idea," a fan wrote on X.

There were also some fans who thought that the aggression with which JoJo Siwa was jerking her head would have hurt her. They also claimed that it must have hurt Mario Lopez as well but noted that he didn't jerk his head as aggressively.

"Mario said let me not do that too hard. I’m gonna have a brain injury," one fan claimed.
"Lol I like that he didn’t do the head banging," another fan commented.

JoJo Siwa commented on Karma before the iHeartRadio talk show and commented that she was trying to change how she is perceived in the industry. During the red carpet appearance, she claimed that she wanted to "make art" that was similar to Miley Cyrus' Bangerz and Britney Spears' [I'm A] Slave 4 U.

"Honestly, I wanted to make art that made people go ‘What?’ similar to Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz [and] Britney Spears’ [I'm A] Slave 4 U. That, for me, was very important that I brought back 'crazy'," the Karma singer commented.

Since its release Karma has been getting several views and streams. While the music video has over 37 million views on YouTube, it has been streamed over 12 million times on Spotify.


Karma reportedly the start of JoJo Siwa's new era

Before the release of Karma, JoJo Siwa claimed that it was her first song from her "not for children" era. Her transition from a children's singer to the new era was heavily criticized by longstanding fans.

Reportedly, to make the transition smooth for herself and her fans, the Dance Moms album began sporting bold costumes at events. She also discussed topics like dating during interviews before the release of Karma.

The 20-year-old was interviewed by TMZ on April 12, 2024, where she discussed the marketing strategy behind Karma and how it was used to change people's perception of her.

"Karma makes you listen, Karma makes you ask, Karma makes you confused. So, whether people like it or not, marketing plan worked," she commented.

She also revealed that several industry giants like Lil Nax X and Meghan Trainor admired her work. Siwa stated that she considers herself lucky to be able to create music for a living since "creating art is a special, special thing" for her.
