All lanes reopened

All lanes are now open on the A19 southbound between the A189 near #Cramlington and A1056 near Killingworth The earlier police led incident has now been cleared.

Delays expected

Drivers are being advised to expect delays following a road closure on the A19 Southbound between the A189 near (Cramlington) and the A1056 near (Killingworth) due to a Police Led Incident.

Diversion in place

Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to follow the Hollow Diamond diversion symbol on road signs.

  • Exit the A19 using the Moor Farm Roundabout and take the third exit onto the A189 southbound, follow the A189 crossing one roundabout.
  • At the second roundabout, take the first exit onto the A1506 eastbound and follow eastbound, crossing two roundabouts to the A19 Killingworth Interchange.
  • Re-join the A19 using the Killingworth Interchange southbound entry slip road.

Vehicles recovered after Central Motorway crash

Two vehicles have been recovered from the Central Motorway after an early morning crash today.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said:

At 6.45am today (Monday), we received a report of a two-vehicle collision on southbound carriageway of the A167 Central Motorway in Newcastle. Emergency services attended and no-one was found to have been injured in the collision.

Both vehicles have since been recovered from the carriageway and traffic is moving freely.

Lane closed on A19 at Northumberland

One lane closed due to broken down vehicle on A19 Westbound from B1319 Dudley Lane (Annitsford) to A1 J80 (Seaton Burn, Seaton Burn). Traffic is coping well.
