'I'm the daddy man' says Gary Lucy as he opens up on parenting five kids and his fears for them

When OK! caught up with actor Gary Lucy at a recent event for The Wickers charity, he opened up on life as a family man - including being dad to five little ones.

The former Hollyoaks star told us: “I have five babies. I’m the daddy man! My oldest is 18 and my youngest is eight months. It's so amazing.”

Gary has two daughters and two sons with his ex-wife Natasha Gray. India was born in 2005, Elvis in 2011, Sadie in 2015, and Theodore in 2018, just weeks after the couple announced their divorce. He also shares a daughter Bonnie, born last September, with former Love Island star, Laura Anderson.

Gary met Laura on reality dating show Celebs Go Dating in 2022, but after an on-off relationship, the couple eventually went their separate ways, and now co-parent their daughter, Bonnie.

Of the eldest of his brood, India, 18, proud Gary said: “My daughter is still studying but she works, too. I don’t see a lot of her because she's so busy all the time. But yeah, it is incredible. And my new baby is so beautiful.”

Along with the joy that children bring, many parents worry when they start to go out into the world by themselves, and it's no different for the 42 year old: “Obviously, you're scared for them in the world. But it's amazing out there. What I would do to start all over again and be that age you know, it's wonderful

The actor added: “The five-year-old was watching TV the other day, and they said, ‘Daddy, can we watch a programme you were in? So I went on YouTube and he watched me as a policeman in The Bill because I was very upstanding!

Speaking of acting work, Gary admitted that things are ‘quiet’ at the moment - but revealed he’s just done something for streaming giant, Netflix - but played his cards close to his chest on what it’s about.

“It’s not a drama, it’s not a reality show…! And I’ve just done something for Australian TV too - it’s like their version of the Bill. But as far as UK terrestrial stuff it's quite quiet but spring summer is when it all starts to kick off really - so we shall see!”
