r/teenagers is the biggest community forum run by teenagers for teenagers. Our subreddit is primarily for discussions and memes that an average teenager would enjoy to discuss about. We do not have any age-restriction in place but do keep in mind this is targeted for users between the ages of 13 to 19. Every time a video goes viral of a teenager being politically progressive a bunch of the comments from older people are to say ”the kids are alright” and that everyone in this generation is very welcoming and respectful and while I can agree with the idea in a vacuum I think it ignores the chronic laziness a lot of people my age or around my age when it comes to politics or the idea of the absence of comfort. I have seen people claim that their luxury items are more important than genocides, climate issues, workers rights, and have found several ways to victim blame and turn issues into centrist solutions and policies. The “progressive” nature seems either extremely liberal or non existent idk.

Gen Z? Progressive? looks up percentage of conservative young males
i mean we are the generation that’s most mentally fucked.
I don’t think mental well being and the political climate consistently interact, people get so depressed about an issue they riot over becoming complacent.
I feel like they're definitely more accepting than they have been in the past
Like people are more sane now but in middle school everyone was so far left, you weren't cool if you weren't gay, people would Photoshop you saying racist things if they didn't like you, and if you literally made a joke you would lose all your friends overnight 😭
Maybe it's just my area and people are def still liberal but omg middle school was the worst time of my life 😭😭

Conservatism benefits them more, so that's why they are typically lean towards that more. Women lean more into liberalism because it benefits them more, simple as that.
