I hope so but that budget is pretty high. Hopefully great WoM will help it.

It's less than Fury Road's was, all things said, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were aiming for this to be a hit at the awards and sweep up all those technical Oscars.

I dont think the budget is that high really.

I saw it reported at $168M, which would mean it needs to make a good bit more than $400M to be successful. The current movie climate is just scary for those kind of numbers.

I may be wrong, but I think WB may have only spent around 100 million due to Australian tax rebates.

Nice that would be dope! I’m already seeing rave reviews so off to a good start as far as audience scores go.

This year is what I thought WB’s 2019 would be like, their big films becoming hits after hits.

u/Dangerous-Hawk16 avatar

This has been the probably the best year for Warner compared to last year. Back to back hits

They need it because the other departments are failing like video games and advertising.

Outside of superhero shit they are doing very well.

Their gaming division was printing money last year then they released a live service cape game and it flopped.

Most of their non cape movies have done well.

Their horror division is killing it. Their TV division is doing well.

They keep flushing good money down the toilet with cape shit.

They should look at some DC non-cape comics for adaptations

Meanwhile, Disney's the opposite with Eternals and Indy 5 bombing at the festivals and eventually bombing at the box office. Remember when Feige and co thought Eternals was a shoe in for a best picture nom?

u/Dangerous-Hawk16 avatar

That was an insane thing for Feige to think. He put too much faith that Eternals was Oscar worthy

I'm curious about where the transition is from long-haired Anya Taylor-Joy to shaved-head, black makeup mechanical arm Anya Taylor-Joy. Is it going to be in the last ten minutes of the film or is it going to happen about halfway through?

u/redditisfacebookk15 avatar

Gonna be honest I'm only interested to see if Anya and Chris have some sexual tension. I don't care about this movie otherwise

We see as this has no Mad Max
