Former Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has declared his support for Tottenham ahead of their clash with Manchester City

Mikel Arteta's men ensured the Premier League title race will go to the wire after beating Manchester United on Sunday.

The north London side are a point ahead of City, who play their game in hand against Tottenham on Tuesday night.

A win or a draw for Ange Postecoglou men will see Arsenal take control of their own destiny ahead of the final day.

And Ozil has vowed to 'never make fun of' Tottenham again if they get a result which favours his former club.

The former playmaker posted on X: 'First time ever tonight: COME ON YOU SPURSSS!! If Tottenham don't lose this game I will never make fun of them again... I promise.'

Ozil has aimed digs at Tottenham from his playing days and even more recently.

In December he rubbed salt into the wounds of Tottenham fans following their 2-1 defeat to West Ham.

That defeat ensured Spurs became the first side to lose three consecutive home games despite going a goal up.

In response, Ozil wrote: 'Who else should be able to break that record? Bottle Job FC is back.'

His jibes at Tottenham date back to 2019 when he made a joke of their long trophy drought.

Ozil made 426 top-flight appearances in his club career, scoring 33 times for Arsenal before his retirement in March 2023 at İstanbul Başakşehir.

The 35-year-old has made the headlines several time this year having turned his attention to bulking up.
