Not exclusive to PlayStation but Rainbow 6 and DragonBall Xenoverse 2 are my “Junk Food” Game

[–]crucifiedx CRUCLFIEDX 19 points20 points  (6 children)

I know you said you are worn out of the massive open world type games but I always come back to Cyberpunk 2077 when I’m looking for easy entertainment without using my brain too much.

When it comes to fun coop, I’d say Helldivers 2 is something I always come back to. 40 minute missions where you can just shut your brain off and just shoot.

[–]hopetodiesoonsadsad 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thats why i Play helldivers most of the time

[–]crucifiedx CRUCLFIEDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so fun!

[–]Burglekutt8523 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Why is it anytime somebody asks a video game recommendation, somebody always says cyberpunk regardless of how fitting it is. "I'm looking for a cool kart racer involving the cast of Mario. Recommendations?" "Have you tried cyberpunk? There's a car in it."

[–]crucifiedx CRUCLFIEDX 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Because it’s an amazing game that you can get tons of enjoyment out of? I obviously wouldn’t recommend Cyberpunk if someone were to look for racing games lol.

[–]Thekarens01 [score hidden]  (0 children)

He’s right though. The OP said they were tired of open world. Cyberpunk is open world and definitely not a junk food type of game.

[–]DependentAdvance8 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Because cyberpunk 2077 is a masterpiece and everyone should experience it just like everyone who has played it and enjoyed it to the fullest. Like the game is 10000000/10 and it’s literally perfection.

[–]LunarsphereTapestry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GTA: San Andreas. Never gets old.

[–]Dependent_Order_7358 2 points3 points  (2 children)

FIFA and PES are like a drug to me lol

[–]TheAlestormGuy [score hidden]  (1 child)

Man I'm so happy fc24 is free this month, I usually buy last year's game at like 10 euros so that saves me this year

[–]EthanWinters1234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly the resident evil games are that for me. OG re4 is something I have put in over 5k hours and always come back to it whenever I have no idea what I want to play or I'm bored

[–]Casper_lesYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend ghostrunner since you suggested Titanfall but it doesn't have multiplayer

[–]TarnishedTremulant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some great indie titles you might consider. Transistor and Bastian are both great and rather digestible.

[–]Caliber70 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Prototype2 will always be my jolly fun game for a weekend.

[–]Revolutionary-Ruin-7 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just beat it this year for my first time and i didn’t stop playing it until I beat it Amazing !!!!

[–]GuacinmyPaintbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PGA Tour Masters. Just a peaceful change from grinding out open world games

[–]Elocin_Yecats PS5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortnite. With all the game modes and creative maps there is countless options to scratch the shallow fun multiplayer itch.

[–]Rockey2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the infamous games

[–]ahjteam PS5 1 point2 points  (3 children)

TMNT. Quick and fun.

[–]GoOnKaz [score hidden]  (2 children)

The old one for ps2 and other consoles?

[–]ahjteam PS5 [score hidden]  (1 child)

No. TMNT: Shredders Revenge for PS4/PS5. From 2022.

[–]GoOnKaz [score hidden]  (0 children)

Oooooh I see. Thanks for clarifying!

[–]itsmyfirsttimegoeasy 4 points5 points  (7 children)

I couldn't even finish FF7 rebirth, it's so bloated, they turned Final Fantasy into a Ubisoft game.

[–]boo-galoo90 [score hidden]  (0 children)

This was me too, loved Remake and bought rebirth just after release and good reviews etc and played it myself and just kept getting a more and more bloated map, I think I just lost interest about half way tbh and traded it. Sad because it was one of the main games I actually was interested in this year

[–]Caliber70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the random sequences is making me consider taking it off my wishlist. Never played the FF before, but aren't these guys supposed to be on a mission?? With like big bad villains trying to mess up the world or similar things? I remember my youtube feed was getting flooded with all these random clips of them doing random nonsense, they are losing me.

[–]CommunicationNo1987 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Kinda agree here. I’m working my way through it slowly, but I need breaks. Every time I play for like 3 hours straight and think I’m making real progress, only for it to tell me the me I’ve only completed like 3% of the game

[–]Bob-Kelsos-Baguette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I did finish it, those were my exact thoughts while playing it.

The original stands superior.

[–]zapp0990 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Man, I guess I’m in the lone camp of thinking rebirth was incredible

[–]Berookes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All absolute masterpieces but the three games I go back to the most are Battlefield 1 for multiplayer, Bioshock for single player and Fallout NV for open world

[–]9inchjackhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m half addicted to Helldivers 2 right now the game is so much fun.

[–]emibost 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Red Dead Online. Just riding around, collecting and hunting and just taking in the scenery of the beautiful world.

[–]boomsmitty 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Haha, I had the exact same thing with FF7 Rebirth. After a few hours I just wanted something to jump in and jump out.

So I bought Helldivers 2. And it did the trick. I’ll have a big game on the go (Rebirth for example) and then dive into Helldivers 2, GT7 or SF6 as and when.

[–]Hand_banana_boi BILLYMAYZBEARD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GT7 is my “pallet cleanse” game between big, one world games.

[–]Cidarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Towerfall

[–]cupnoodlesDbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dynasty warriors 8

[–]Rkleib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EAFC career mode, Jurassic world evo 2.

[–]Most-Iron6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighting games, racing games, Tony hawk types, in the past wrestling games

[–]Futbol_Kid2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sports titles and World of Warships are my go tos when I'm in a lull and trying to figure out what my next big game is gonna be.

[–]beakster57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People playground

[–]Vagabond_Scuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurgency Sandstorm

[–]tsckenny PS5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nhl 23 but I doubt that's what you're looking for

[–]inkedgalaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the sims

[–]GISReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead cells for sure.

[–]MrPoopsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CoD fits the junk food title perfectly. Jump in play a few matches and then quit. Getting a bit burned out on playing something massive like Rebirth? Shoot some people in the face in CoD.
I buy it every year because what ever else I’m playing, CoD is a nice palette cleanser.

[–]HashStash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twisted Metal 2012

[–]frankfromQc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like playing sports games while listening to music. Otherwise I'd say doing radiant quests in Fallout 4 or roam around in Diablo.

[–]Tough-Solution8154 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How old are you? Try Robocop

[–]baldylocks95[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Tried Robocop - I just couldn’t get over how slowly he moves! I know it’s accurate based on the movies but put me to sleep playing it 😂

I’m sorry. This might be a stupid question, but what is a junk food game?

[–]PapaG1useppe [score hidden]  (0 children)

Feels unfair calling them junk food but old school style indie games like graveyard keeper/stardew. Dave the Diver is available on ps now and is so chill and engaging at the same time

[–]Dramatic-Knee-4842 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Assassin‘s Creed Ezio collection.

[–]PsychologicalBad7443 PS5 [score hidden]  (0 children)

The newest Hitman trilogy for me. It’s great to just jump in and run with different methods

[–]chriislmaoo [score hidden]  (0 children)

Whatever Call of duty is out that year. I don’t really play MP stuff anymore bc I can’t find the time to adapt and learn a new play style. But cod is the same year after year so if I wanna turn my brain off and grind for an hour or two I just play cod.

[–]Salty_Pineapple4170 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Ff7 rebirth was tough to get through man I barely finished it. Took 2.5 months to slog through.

Some easy fun gamed to play on the side check out:

TMNT Cowabunga Collection and Shredders Revenge.

Double Dragon

Contra

Final Fight 4

All these games just got modern releases recently. Nice chill beat em ups.

[–]HaouLeo 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Did you just call titanfall 2 junk?

[–]baldylocks95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! Yes but not what I meant 😂 I mean the campaign is short but great and doesn’t require tho much thought

[–]VenturerKnigtmare420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assassins creed easily. No matter what is said about Ubisoft, they are basically at this point the McDonald’s of gaming. You know exactly what you are going to get with a Ubisoft game every time and you will enjoy it but it’s not going to be the local Chinese take away or the michelin starred restaurant dining food. It’s going to be the same mcchicken burger made by some struggling university student and it’ll taste the same but it’ll taste good.

That’s exactly how I view Ubisofts assasssins creed games. Clear coat comfort food. It just lets me shut off my brain do cool parkour by exploring giant open worlds

I know you said you are worn out of the massive open world type games but I always come back to Cyberpunk 2077 when I’m looking for easy entertainment without using my brain too much.
