King Charles did not see son Prince Harry during his flying visit to the UK this week

Angela Levin has revealed the "sweet and subtle" way Queen Camilla offered support to King Charles, as he hosted a huge event this week.

The King hosted 8,000 people at Buckingham Palace for the first royal garden party since his cancer diagnosis on Wednesday.

On the same day, estranged son Prince Harry was also in the UK as he attended an Invictus Games thanksgiving service alone, without the support of Meghan Markle or any members of the Royal Family.

Speaking to GB News, Angela Levin revealed the monarch is "desperate" to be back out and about with the British people, as he continues cancer treatment.

In discussion with Nana Akua, Levin detailed the King's garden party and hailed his "amazing" return to royal duties amid his cancer treatment.

Levin claimed Charles is "scurrying around as much as possible" and carrying out "up to three engagements a day" on some occasions.

The royal biographer told GB News: "He's actually going incredibly fast, doing two or three things in one day. When somebody said how are you at the party, he said oh, not that bad.

"He also said thank goodness they've let me out, they've unlocked the door so that I can get out."

Discussing the King's love for the British people, Levin claimed the monarch is "desperate" to get back to public-facing engagements and speaking to the Royal Family's supporters.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Levin said: "You see how desperately he wants to be with us, with the people, and that it makes a very big difference to him.

"I'm sure that will help him with his treatment, because if you really are happy and you really want to be out and about and doing what you used to be doing, then it helps the medicine to work."

Discussing Queen Camilla's appearance at the garden party, Levin revealed how she helped the King navigate the large crowds at the event.

Levin explained: "Often he tries to get through everyone, but he didn't this time. I was pleased to know he was desperate to, and she kept slightly pushing on his back when it was time to go, and I thought she was so subtle about it."

Heaping further praise on Queen Camilla, Levin continued: "There was no pulling, no holding hands and dragging him, just a little tap and he moved on. It was very sweet. It was very, very sweet.

"And I hope that he will continue to get well and better and that he can enjoy it."

Levin added: "She does it all very subtly, she's working incredibly hard. Every day there's something she's doing, because I think she wants to keep the motivation there.

"But when you see her with animals in particular, you see somebody who's really keen to look after them and she's doing well."
