A bank has taken possession of a Findley Lake hotel, while a Dollar General in Chautauqua County has been sold for the second time in less than two years.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Feb. 21-29.

During that time period, a referee for Findley Lake Hospitality LLC oversaw the transaction of 3025 Rt. 426, Mina to Citizens Bank for $2,807,107. That’s the address of Comfort Inn & Suites.

The Post-Journal reported in November, 2022 that the owners of Comfort Inn and Suites located near Interstate 86 in Findley Lake had filed for bankruptcy.

The hotel is listed on line as “permanently closed.”

In a separate sale, the Michael Mattis Taback Dynasty Trust No. 1 of Northridge, Calif. sold 199 West Lake Road, Mayville to New Sky, LLC of Charleston, SC for $750,000. This is the location of Dollar General.

In October of 2022, the Michael Mattis Taback Dynasty Trust No. 1 purchased the retail business for $845,000.

Also during this time period, the Upper New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church sold 10008 NE Sherman Road, Ripley to Justin Safford for $74,000. This is the location of South Ripley Methodist Church.

Including the sales previously mentioned, from Feb. 21-29 there were 11 transactions that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:
