On this Day in Chinese History; 19 May

This day, 19 May, in 1971, China received a message from Nixon conveyed by Pakistan which read, “In order to resolve the differences between the two countries and given the importance attached to the normalisation of relations between them, we are ready to have serious talks with the leaders of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing. Both sides can freely raise their respective major concerns”.
