Chris Cudby / Friday 17th May, 2024 1:47PM

Aotearoa advocators of interstellar funk, Black Comet are shifting gear into hyperdrive this winter. Fronted by vocalist / guitarist Laughton Kora of Kora fame, the five-piece are following last year's sleeper hit Live @ Totara Street EP (featuring Tiki Taane) with whole dang debut album Episode One: Looking For A New Planet, launching with a large-scale tour sizzling up stages nationwide this winter.

Pulling together threads of cosmic funk including Parliament / Funkedelic, Zapp & Roger and Troy Kingi's classic Shake That Skinny Ass All the Way to Zygertron, Black Comet today treat us to the holographic fiesta of good time grooves that is their new single 'Ohh Yeah Baby', warming up for the tour tonight with superstars Corella in Tauranga.
