A doubleheader sweep by Rochester Adams Tuesday over Clarkston put head coach Fran Scislowicz in exclusive company.

The Highlanders held off the Wolves, 7-6, to give Adams the win, which was the 800th of Scislowicz’s career.

Scislowicz, who also had his share of basketball victories with Adams girls hoops, needed 19 wins entering this spring to break the barrier.

He’s welcomed into the 800 Club this season alongside South Haven’s Wilma Wilson, making it 20 coaches who have crossed the plateau over their careers, according to MHSAA.

Others above Scislowicz on the all-time wins list include Joe Alsup, who finished his career with Lakeland, and Don Peters, who spent most of his time at Ortonville Brandon before coaching at Clarkston, and then at Goodrich. The Highlanders won the opener, 4-1.
