Peabody named to MASCAC All-Conference Second Team

MASCAC Press Release

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Sophomore pitcher/infielder Hailey Peabody (West Springfield, MA / West Springfield High School) has been named to the MASCAC All-Conference Second Team.

Worcester State's Emma Lanpher was named the Player of the Year, while her teammate Emily Bartlett was named Pitcher of the Year. The Rookie of the Year honor went to Mass. Maritime's Sarah Holler. Westfield State's Joe Hough was named the BSN Coach of the Year.

Peabody was honored with her first MASCAC All-Conference Team appointment. She was one of only three Trailblazers to appear in all of the team's 36 games. The West Springfield, MA, sophomore led the MASCAC with 23 stolen bases. Her 51 hits were fourth in the conference despite playing at least six fewer games than the players ahead of her. Peabody's .395 batting average was good for sixth among conference qualifiers.

Peabody's versatility was on full display as she excelled in the batter's box and the circle. She showed remarkable resilience despite being thrust into a larger role in the Trailblazers' pitching staff due to injuries. She finished the year with a 3-3 record, including three complete games in nine appearances, including four starts. Her 5.20 strikeouts per seven innings placed her fifth among MASCAC hurlers.

Joining Peabody on the second team were Bridgewater State's Victoria Becker, Framingham State's Shelby Roode, Brooke Grassia, Caroline Hughes, and Ally Moran, Westfield State's Sarah Bingham and Jordyn Lummus, and Worcester State's Bella Gasbarro and Abigail Koziol.

The first team consisted of Bridgewater State's Makayla Ansell, Framingham State's Kelsey McGuill and Gwendolyn Carpenter, Fitchburg State's Dana Cisowski, Salem State's Alaina Giuliano, Westfield State's Sarah Hough, Abby Clark, and Stephanie Scoville, and Worcester State's Lanpher, Bartlett, and Emma Lapoint.
