RAVENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – Cardinal Mooney’s 4-run fifth inning propelled the Cardinals into the next round of the playoffs after its’ 4-3 victory over Southeast.

Jonathan Brenner went all 7 innings for Mooney on the hill, striking out 9 batters and permitting only 2 earned runs.

The Cardinals’ offense was only able to gather three base hits but had four runners reach base on walks. Brenner had a double while Kaden Reese and Gabe Saunders each had singles.

Mooney has now won three of its last four games. The Cardinals are set to meet United on Wednesday in the sectional championship game.
