Bakersfield College is celebrating the 2024 graduates with its 110th commencement ceremony on Friday, May 10th, at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

The graduation will celebrate over 3,200 graduates.

The college said the graduating class boasts a diverse range of accomplishments including students from the Early College program, who are earning their associate's degrees while still in high school. 17 graduates will receive a Baccalaureate of Science in Industrial Automation, representing the 7th graduating cohort from BC's 4-year degree program. Over 1,000 students have been offered admission to CSUB this fall, highlighting the college's strong transfer pathways.

The college said an evening ceremony will have a fireworks show.

The ceremony will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person. The broadcast will be available on the Bakersfield College website and YouTube channel.

In addition to the main commencement program, the Bakersfield College community will celebrate the Class of 2024 with a series of pre-commencement Affinity Group events scheduled for May 10th, 2024:

  • African American Pre-Commencement: 4 p.m. (Indoor Theater)
  • Chicano/Latino Pre-Commencement: 3 p.m. (Outdoor Theater)
  • Delano Pre-Commencement: 11 a.m. (Delano Campus)
  • Baccalaureate Graduates Pre-Commencement: 4 p.m. (Renegade Events Center)
  • Lavender (LGBTQIA+) Pre-Commencement: 3 p.m. (Renegade Events Center)
  • Veterans Pre-Commencement: 4 p.m. (Veterans Resource Center)
