Family Survey

This is the last week for the family survey. If you have not had a chance to complete it, please take a moment and do so. Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort. Parents, students, and schools all play important roles in this process. Help us make your child's school experience at Creech Road as positive and beneficial as possible by giving honest, thoughtful responses to the questions in our family survey from April 8 - May 17. You can access the survey here.

Cell Phone Usage

We understand that you may send your child to school with a cellphone. However, we have seen an increase in cell phones being a distraction for students during the instructional day. If your child brings a cellphone to school, it should remain off and in their backpacks, not visible. Please read our Cell Phone Usage Policy.

Carpool

Please remember that we begin dismissing carpool students at 3:45 pm. We will continue to document the carpool tag numbers of cars arriving by 4:10 pm. After this, you will need to pull to the curb and walk to the front door to pick up your child. Please be sure to have your carpool tag or your photo ID. Please make every effort to pick up your child on time. We appreciate your attention to this matter.

Schoolwide Expectations

At Creech Road Elementary School, we want all our students to R.O.A.R.

Responsibility is key

Operate with Safety

Always Give Your Best

Respect Everyone

Please speak with your child to review the schoolwide expectations and encourage your child to follow the schoolwide expectations each day.

Attendance Matters

It is so important that your child attends school. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool, so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day, is important. Eventually, good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school and college.

Did you know…

  • Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
  • Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read.
  • Students can still fall behind if they miss just one or two days every few weeks.
  • Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
  • Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up

Please ensure your child is at school to ensure that they learn all they can.

Transportation Changes

Teachers have documented each student's normal transportation mode (bus/carpool/van rider). Any changes to your child’s normal method of transportation must be made in writing and sent via email to Creechroadofficestaff@wcpss.net as soon as possible.

We look forward to another great week where we will imagine the possibilities, achieve our goals, and celebrate our growth. Thank you for your continued support, and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Yours in Partnership,

Dr. Ralph Chew
