Gary Neville makes Manchester United vs Arsenal prediction nobody expected

Gary Neville has made a bold prediction ahead of the crunch clash between Manchester United and Arsenal, suggesting that the Gunners' title hopes could be dashed at Old Trafford this weekend.

With the Premier League season reaching its climax, Arsenal are set to face United on Sunday at 4.30pm, in a match that is crucial for their title aspirations. Mikel Arteta's team, who were one point clear of Manchester City before the weekend, need to secure a victory to maintain pressure on the reigning champions, especially as City have a game in hand.

The North London side must win both of their remaining games to keep their title dreams alive and potentially overtake Pep Guardiola's squad. They're up against a United team that has seen better days, with Erik ten Hag's men achieving only two wins out of their last 10 Premier League matches.

Despite United's recent form and their humbling 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, they still have European qualification to play for and find themselves in eighth place. Neville, speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by Sky Bet, has tipped United to throw a spanner in the works for Arsenal's title chase.

"This is the big one," Neville emphasised. "Arsenal have a poor record here. Three things stand out to me. Firstly, this is massive for Arsenal. Secondly, United's record against the big teams isn't that bad at home. A lot of the top teams haven't beat United at home.

"And thirdly, Arsenal have got a really poor record at Old Trafford. People are almost dismissing Man United in this game because they've been that bad, which we all get, but it can be a graveyard, Old Trafford.

"Look, Arsenal should win but I'm not sure they will. Arsenal should win but there's a madness about Old Trafford and this game, usually in a title race it doesn't work out how you think. I'm going 2-2, this is just my feeling. Arsenal should win but it's a feeling I have."

Arsenal indeed have a less-than-stellar track record at Old Trafford, having suffered defeats on their last two visits. They did manage to clinch a 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture back in September, albeit requiring two injury-time goals to do so.

However, their recent away form in the league has been nothing short of dominant, netting an impressive 27 goals and conceding a mere three in their past eight matches, with only City managing to halt their winning streak. When questioned about United's current performance levels, Arteta remarked: "I don't think about it, every game has a different context.

"We know the difficulty and the history when you look at what we've done over there, so we're going to have to be at our best to earn the right to win the game."

Arteta continued to downplay the significance of Arsenal's historical struggles at Old Trafford, stating: "We know what we need to do but first of all we have to perform at a really high level to deserve to win the match. That's what the focus is."
