My New BAB
This is Chester, 🐸 I got him Saturday. I wasn’t happy with my keroppi because everytime I changed his shirt his head would kind of lose it’s shape. It made me sad and I kind of wanted to return him. So I went to the store because I had the receipt and on the back it said they accept returns and exchanges. When I asked an employee, a really nice older lady. She said you can’t return or exchange stuffed animals. I said I understand and I was just going to leave after that. She then asked what stuffed animal I wanted to get instead. I told her I just wanted a frog. She said “ Well, you can make a frog, don’t worry about it. And you can keep your keroppi.” 😭😭😭😭 I almost cried. It really made my day and then some.

This is one of my favourite stories to tell people about BAB, more specifically the staff! I do respite care; essentially temporary foster care. I have children I take out of the home for activities and over night stays so both children and parent can have a break. Some of these children come from homes with less and parents who are “overwhelmed” and maybe not doing all they should. I went get one of the children after an incident and was aware of the fact the child had a visible bruise on her face. I had already told her about the activity and I don’t want to be another disappointment in her week. I walk into the mall, quite done up. I try to look professional. The child with me was wearing tattered clothes as we had just come from her home - and was sporting a massive bruise. For the entire two minute walk to BAB I was just glared at and ripped apart by people’s eyes. I honestly wanted to turn around, but she was so excited. I walked into the store let her pick BAB and nervously walked over to the stuffing station. This gorgeous red head, looks at us with the biggest smile and just begins to treat us like every other customer who walked in. No judgement. Just kindness. I called later that night to tell them how much it meant to me.
That’s a really good one! I bet that made that little girls day too.
as a former foster kid who was in and out of respite; thank you for all you do for us ❤️ i’ve still got the build a bear i made with a foster family ten +years ago. means so much to me & i’m sure it did to your kid too

Yep, policy is definitely 90 days. I’m glad OP had a good time, but I find it a touch strange that they were told they can’t return stuffed animals ?
I’ve been going to the same BAB for years and my best memory was when they got the special edition toothless they said they only got about 10 in, by the time I got there they were all out. I was so upset and the manager told me she actually had one in the back because she knew I wanted it.

The workers at mine love when I bring in my vintage BABs! One of them had never seen the shaggy hound!
Before my store got the longhorns in, my best experience was buying one unstuffed online and going in to get him stuffed- the employee was sooooo excited and talking about how he wanted one and how happy he would be if they came to the store Next time I went they had the big ones too and I asked him if he ended up getting a longhorn- he got the little one and big one And now that longhorn is my favorite BAB ever- unrelated to the experience, but still. I hope that employee is doing well.

The turtle is so cute!! I don’t have BABs near me anymore (moved to a country that doesn’t have them) but I would love to get the turtle next chance I have. Might get my aunt to ship it to me haha
