Westlake High School Reviews
Rating 3.86 out of 5 534 reviews
Westlake is an amazing school! In the area (compared to Newberry and Thousand Oaks High), it has the strongest academics by far. If you are a high achieving student who takes a lot of AP classes Westlake is the best school for you. I will say it is hard for lower achieving students who take CP classes because there is a culture at Westlake that only supports the smartest people. It is definitely competitive. It will prep you for college perfect like, for example, the national avg. pass rate for the AP Language test is 53% but Westlake's is 95%. One year they had 100% pass. The cost of living is high but it really is a great school and I feel very safe. the facilities are very modern as well.
Westlake High School is a very public private school as they would say. The campus is absolutely gorgeous with immense greenery everywhere. But get ready to walk! As well as amazing facilities such as the new advanced Science building with many resources and advanced technology available to students. With specific career emphasis for students already passionate about an intended field of study at the next level.
Overall, my experience at Westlake high school has been positive. Through my experience, which is freshman, sophomore, and junior year I think Westlake high school is a very supportive and encouraging environment. Westlake high school has many facilities to support mental health which has personally assisted me. Our campus is inclusive and a safe space.
