Boiled eggs

is there a good method?

I've read recipes online and i feel like i'm the hapless subject of a hidden camera show when i actually try to peel these fuckers.

I feel like the black and white infomercial B-reel of why the old shit is bad, yet i humble myself because i have no better option

This is a rare non-ironic RS post, I genuinely need help. TIA

Do you put them in/under cold water immediately after boiling? I don't know how else you could fuck up.

source: I eat 30 a week.

You might be the only person I’m aware of that eats more hard boiled eggs than me. Do you fuck with sardines?

Yes, I like to put a slice of sardine on each spoon of a soft boiled egg.

Hell yeah. With that setup for lunch and a decent amount of Greek yogurt early in the day I really don’t have to think about macros,

Just crack the egg, then roll it under your hand and shatter it up. Then pull it off and place it under running water to remove any stubborn pieces that are sticking to the egg.

Sometimes it’ll peel off nice and clean, sometimes it has big patches of shell that are stuck but they can be removed easily under the running water

Using fresher eggs might help a bit but like the other posters said, peel it under cold running water.

  1. Put eggs in a pot of water

  2. Bring it to a boil

  3. Turn off burner and cover pot with lid

  4. Set timer for 20 minutes

  5. Drain water from pot and run eggs under cold water for 30 seconds

The key is to add a tbsp of vinegar to a pot of water, bring it to a boil FIRST, and only THEN add the eggs. Boil for 13 minutes and then soak the eggs in cold water to stop the cooking process. The eggs peel like a dream

I only eat 28 eggs per week so I guess I’m not as qualified as the guy who eats 30. But that being said this was a life changing discovery for me
