AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow carries out extensive international cooperation with universities from Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, Spain, Israel, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom within the Erasmus+ Programme.
The Academy also conducts cooperation based on bilateral agreements with universities from France (Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique, Paris), the USA (Harvard University), China and Israel. These collaborations provide a unique opportunity for both students and AST teaching staff to exchange experiences through workshops, study visits and participation in international projects.
ERASMUS + PROGRAMME
Erasmus+ is a European Union programme that enables people to learn abroad, take part in professional mobility abroad or carry out international educational projects.
The European budget for the programme for the period 2021-2027 is €26.2 billion. With the new financial perspective, the Erasmus+ programme has been broadened to focus even more on equal opportunities and has become innovative due to the introduction of digital solutions.
Erasmus+ is crucial to the establishment of a European Education Area by 2025, through which the European Union intends, among other things, to ensure that all young people have access to education and training of the highest possible quality, to enable learners to move easily between education systems in different countries, and to give them the opportunity to find a job throughout Europe.
In the Higher Education sector, universities holding an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education can participate. Higher education institutions can carry out exchanges of students and staff and coordinate or participate as partners in international projects. Through the programme, students have the opportunity to go abroad for part of their studies and for placements. Academic staff can teach students in foreign universities. Employees from different units of the university can benefit from training trips. In addition, students and employees of the university have the opportunity to participate in international projects.
