Kentucky basketball has a special player in Justin Edwards.

Edwards may end up being one of the most underrated pieces of this loaded Wildcats' squad this upcoming season, given his versatility and size at the small forward position. Kentucky doesn't have a lot of options at the three, so having a talent like Edwards leading the way is excellent.

But how does Edwards project out to the next level?

Andrew Stefaniak of Wildcats Today sat down with Rafael Barlowe of the Locked On NBA Draft Podcast to discuss Edwards' abilities, and what may stand out to NBA scouts.

"I like Justin Edwards a lot, I have him at No. 1 on my big board," Barlowe said. "I think he does a little bit of everything well, I don't think there's like a glaring weakness, he has the positional size, he's a good athlete, he can score off the dribble, he can shoot, he can pull up. I think he has flashes of being a three-level scorer, I think he can defend multiple positions."

How does Edwards stand out against the rest of the upcoming class?

"You can make a case and say he's probably the safest player in this class, and maybe even one of the complete players in this draft class." Barlowe said. "A lot of guys have a real glaring weakness to where you say 'well if they improve on this, they may be able to to max out their potential here, or if they don't improve, then there's a floor,' and with Justin Edwards he is steady all the way around. Some people say he is a jack of all trades, master of none. But I think with his versatility and the way NBA teams value wings that can dribble and shoot and defend and pass, I think that he could easily be the No. 1 pick."

On a team full of potential lottery picks, Justin Edwards stands out.
