CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Fordham rowing team opened action at the Dad Vail Regatta on Friday with three Fordham boats advancing to Saturday Grand Finals.
The Varsity 8 shell won its time trial in dominant fashion, crossing the line in 7:02.68, five seconds clear of Drexel in second. The V8+ will compete in the semi-final tomorrow at 10:16 a.m.
The Second and Third Varsity 8 boats earned spots in Grand Finals, as the 2V8 finished the course in 8:08.92 while the 3V8 checked in with a time of 8:44.44. The 3V8 Grand Final will kick off at 1:48 p.m. on Saturday while the 2V8 Grand Final will begin at 2:04.
After finishing sixth in the time trial and third in its semifinal with a time of 8:43.78, the V4+ will compete for The Margaret McNiff Trophy in tomorrow's Grand Final slated for 3 p.m.
The Second Varsity 4, which finished sixth in its semi-final with a time of 9:44.26, will compete in tomorrow's final at 9:20 a.m.
The Novice 4, which finished 10th in its time trial (9:48.05) and sixth in its semifinal (9:45.09), will compete in tomorrow's final at 8:40 a.m.
