a second chance romance
LOVE STRIKES WHRE YOU LEAST EXPECT IT
My marriage is over, my wife has moved on with another man. I’m lost, lonely. I long for a second chance at love, to have someone to care for again. But how will I find someone, isolated on a remote campsite? Sweet Julie is too young and too innocent. More importantly, her older brother, Trevor, watches my every move; his gaze burns holes into my cracked and desperate soul. Am I too broken to care for someone else? Or am I the one who needs to be taken care of? And can that person be a hunky, blue eyed farmer?
A man who loves to call me ‘boy’…

I love all things age gap, naughty, kinky and dark. I would call myself a reader first and a writer second. In fact, I never aspired to be a writer; I pinch myself on a daily basis knowing that my stories, daydreams that have featured in my head all my life, have found a new home on paper, where they are shared with you.

4 Bright Blue Eyes Stars ⭐

This was the sweetest indulgence. It's been ages since I've read an mm romance, but I have a love for this author who usually pushes the boundaries with her stories. Except this was different to what I expected (more wholesome and steamy) and surprisingly I was happier about that!

I’ve never been kissed like this, never had anyone grip my head so firmly, never had anyone duel and win the fight for control. It’s freeing. Losing control is freeing.

Single dad Jamie is at a crossroad. Newly seperated and coming to terms with what that now means because he doesn't have full custody of his son Adam. Deciding to take his little boy camping, not only is he out of his depth, having feelings for the owner / farmer Trevor is confronting. Especially because he's a man.

I've read gay awakening romances before and a lot feel weird. Like how did they not know they were gay? But what do I know? Yet in this instance it felt real and organic. And when you're confronted by a man like Trevor, well frankly he was irresistible. Them coming together was seamless.

I appreciated that this wasn't instant love because there is a lot to absorb and accept. But somehow there was a lot of emotions packed in not a lot of pages with Jamie falling wholeheartedly for Trevor. Short, sexy and delicious, Single Dad Seeking Love was so good!

Not bad...

Twas a short and sweet not so twisted story.

I think this one could have been much better fleshed out. I kind of felt like the child was a prop, but at least it was a fast read.

First, I want to thank Nova Flynn for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

WOW!!! I have read my share of LGTBQ+ books in the past but Nova Flynn’s Single Dad Seeking Love is one of my ultimate favorites! It was a beautifully written story that had me smiling and giggling at times.

Oh we need to talk about the beautiful cover designed by Nova Flynn and created by Shutterstock. WOW! Now that is a hot body that will capture the attention of its readers! Great job!

Nova mentions before you start the book that this is for adult eyes only. There are graphic descriptions of sexual acts between two men. If this is not your cup of tea then maybe this book is not for you.

This is a very fast paced addictive quick read that can be devoured in one sitting. Then again I was glued to my Kindle and couldn’t stop reading.

I absolutely loved how Single Dad Seeking Love was set at a camping/glamping site with farm animals. It made for a lot of cute and fun scenes.

Cute little Adam captured my heart instantly! He was the sweetest, caring, most adorable and full of life!

Single Dad Seeking Love is a beautiful story about finding out who you really are, accepting it, and living your best life! This is a story many can probably relate to in one way or another.

Nova does an amazing job building up to the sexual scenes and writes them beautifully.

Thank you to Nova’s sister-in-law who put the spark into writing Jamie’s story!

This book was originally put into Aimee Walker’s Twisted Tropes Anthology.

Jamie is a single dad who is struggling with feelings of failing at fatherhood. I really empathized with him, his emotions are conveyed so incredibly well.
He and his son take a 2 week trip to a countryside camping park and meet Julie and her brother Trevor who own the site.
I love that I thought the romance was going one way and it twisted and went another surprising, sexy and wonderful way.
For a short story there is so much character development and emotional depth. This is so rare in a novella, I applaud the author.
I loved this story so much, Jamie’s son is adorable and adds so much sweetness.
It’s really sexy, smart, emotional and extremely HOT! I love the secretive, naughty nature of it.
It’s such a fantastic mix of sweetness, hot chemistry and steamy scenes.
It’s amazing how much I felt for these wonderful characters and their journey in a short story, I’m very impressed. I absolutely loved it! This author never disappoints.

Every Nova Flynn book has been a 5 star read, and I’ve re-read all of them at least once. I can’t get enough! I originally read this when it was a short story included in an anthology and loved it, so I was excited when the author announced she was re-releasing it with added chapters that I think really helped flesh out the story and gave us more HEA. I didn’t realize when I first read it that it was M/M (the main character didn’t either!) which is different from her other books, and I was so pleasantly surprised!!!! Jamie and Trevor are so…swoon.

This was incredibly readable. Adam was an adorable child. Jamie is far from perfect, but he's relatable even though I wish he had been firmer in discouraging Julie's interest. Trevor is a bit much in his overprotectiveness, but I liked his chemistry and reactions with Jamie. The romantic V briefly presented in the story isn't overly drawn out or dramatized though I'd still argue it was unnecessary to be there at all.

Having this as Jamie's sexual awakening was enough of a solid story. I loved how Trevor made him feel taken care of and called him boy despite Jamie being 2 years older. This isn't totally a Daddy/boy kind of story, but I like that it has those caring/comforted vibes. Trevor very nearly got this to 5 stars with his contempt for roundabouts because those things are multiplying lately near where I live and drive in the US and I loathe them. There are just a few bits that kept me from totally loving the whole story overall. Nothing worth citing as they're personal peeves handled in a way that didn't offend me in this case just really made me wish they hadn't popped up at all, like the Julie leg of the romantic V.

I would have loved to see more moments between Jamie and Trevor, instead we got more moments with Jamie and Trevor’s sister Julie. Adam's adorable self stole the show for me. I did love how Trevor was bonding with him. This was a short and fast-paced read. I enjoyed it. Just wished I got to see more of Jamie and Trevor.
