Various – Almost Famous (Music From The Motion Picture)

The film soundtrack might be the soundtrack of my own teenage years so I'm extremely taken with this compilation. It's lovingly mastered and pressed and is a real delight to listen to. A real audiophile treat. Probably hard to find now at any sensible price which is a shame. Quiet, flat, and sounds great.

Gnarly edge warp on Side 1 for me. Somehow my stylus still tracks it.

Is the description of this entry correct? My copy has these matrix numbers exactly. The album back cover has Side 2 track 1 mislabeled as 4, just as the description here.

My labels are also pressed A/D and B/C, but mine has misprinted labels for the Yes and Rod Stewart tracks.

I feel like some of the entries in the three versions of this 2009 pressing are not consistent.

This features arguably the best master of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man", even with the tape drops and [relatively] slightly squashed DR, it has so much more life than the version on both the original MCA LP and the MFSL SACD of "(Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd)" which I own as well as multiple other versions I've tried.

This has a much fuller soundstage and is so much more fun to listen to, there's real weight to it. Perhaps it's not faithful, but if you want fun, this is the one to own for that song alone...

Great pressing with some amazing music. Looks like the price has dropped considerably from first release. Grab this one now, thank me later!

I’m not sure what is going on with my copies but they have misprints on both sealed copies I got. First one had a huge black mark through the red pressing I took it back and the second one has a weird white sticker on the tracks. I’m going to get a third one to see if it has the same thing because I really want this album. This sucks.
