Donald H. Chapman age 78 of Griffin passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Eternal Hope Hospice.
Don was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts on March 17, 1945. His parents Donald Hay Chapman and Cora Elva Holmes Chapman. Don was a retired supervisor from Delta Airlines after 33 years of service. He was a long-time member of Eagles Way Church, a member of Dixieland Dulcimers, and was an avid guitar player and golfer. After retiring from Delta Don worked at the City of Griffin Golf Course and was a USGTF certified golf instructor. He was always proud to have hit a hole in one while playing in a golf tournament in Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife, Jerry Chapman; children, Kristin (Dan) Saegaert, William (Mandi) Chapman, Lynne (Greg) Williams, and JimBo Hobbs; grandchildren, Christopher (Shannon) Head, Brandie (Clay) Nix, Austin (Taylor) Head, Tasha (Kevin) Criswell, Alex Chapman, Jessi Chapman, Brittany (Blake) Hayes, Skye Gunter, Sierra (Peter) Faulkner, Cameron Saegaert, Mackenzie Saegaert, Dakota (Haley) Green, Blake Hobbs, and Kenneth Klinko; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Brenda (Robert) Walker and Geri (Gary) Archambault; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service in the chapel. Pastor Buren Goss will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Eagles Way Church in memory of Don. The service will be livestreamed from his obituary page.
