Nyack over the years has been a great highschool to finish my education before college. It has a wide range of classes, such as photography, many AP courses, ceramics, cooking, fitness training, etc. The laptops they give to each student aren't super fancy, but they get the job done, and the program they use for classes (schoology) works well. The bathroom could be in better shape, and the school has just started a new system to try and stop skipping in the bathroom during class, and overcrowding. I bring my own lunch usually, but eat the school lunch a decent amount. They've recently made it free, its nothing too special but its a big help to some students. I've had a positive expierience with all if not most of my teachers. Events however, could be better. From what ive seen the shcool board strikes down a lot of great ideas from the class council. I'd also like to see more field trips, it doesn't have to be school wide, but for the senior class atleast that would be fun.
I have had great experiences at Nyack High School. I honestly love it there; many of the teachers are very kind and willing to assist you with whatever you need, the community is great, there is a lot of diversity, and I feel very safe there. We do a lot of fun school spirit activities too which help lift the mood in all of the students!
At Nyack High School, I've been provided many opportunities through the arts, sports, sciences, etc. The most helpful resources have been my guidance counselors and many teachers are open to providing you information in preparation for college.
