Shah Rukh Khan had a memorable time on Sunday after Kolkata beat Lucknow by 8 wickets at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The KKR owner also earned the respect of fans after he was seen picking up discarded flags of his team from the ground. A video is going viral on social media where the King of Bollywood bent down and picked up the flags.

The fans did not take time in lauding the veteran actor for his humble gesture and showing respect towards KKR and their flags.

One of the fans wrote, Throughout the match, Shah Rukh Khan was picking up the KKR flags which fell on the ground. @KKRiders is so close to his heart. And such small gestures are the reason why SRK is king of hearts.”

Kolkata carry their impressive form

Kolkata started their campaign with 3 wins on the trot and jumped to the top of the table. However, they lost to Chennai 7 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. But returning to home, they thumped KL Rahul’s LSG. Phil Salt won the award for the Player of the Match after he scored an unbeaten 89 runs off 47 balls with the help of 14 fours and 3 sixes.

On the back of his knock, KKR chased down the target of 162 with 26 balls left in their innings. KKR lost the wickets of Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi cheaply, but Salt and Shreyas Iyer got them back on track.

Shreyas and Salt put on an unbeaten partnership of 120 runs off 12.3 overs and took KKR past the finish line. The duo made sure that Kolkata chased down the target with 26 balls left in their innings. Amongst their bowlers, Mitchell Starc was the standout performer with figures of 4-0-28-3.
