With purpose-built spaces for specialist subjects, our Prep School is designed to appeal to children’s natural curiosity – igniting a ravenous desire to discover.
Split across two buildings – Little Stream and Upper Prep – our Prep School is designed to ignite inquisitive young minds with exciting new environments that invite exploration.
Whether they’re experimenting in the Science or Design Technology labs, racing through the Adventure Playground, or handling rare artefacts on the South East Coast of England – we use our state-of-the-art facilities and ‘extended classroom’ to unleash the desire to discover, instilling confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

The majority of Prep School life takes place in the Little Stream building, overseen by Mrs Clare Mackie. A school within a school, these facilities lend themselves to specialist teaching, with a dedicated performance space, Science lab, Art studio, ICT suite, Music room and break out spaces for smaller group work.
Of course, there’s still plenty of room for free time and imaginative play – with the Fort in Little Stream’s dedicated playground providing a new challenge, as well as a fun way to bring topics like ‘The Romans’ to life.
Upper Prep (Years 5 - 6)

Mrs Mackie continues to oversee the children as they spread their wings and move from Little Stream to the Upper Prep building.
With access to a large-scale performance theatre, three specialist Science laboratories, and a Design Technology computer room and workshop – Upper Prep life will feed their natural curiosity, see them grow in confidence, and create a feeling of excitement around their studies.
Children will also enjoy increased use of sports pitches, table tennis tables, and access to a fully-fledged Adventure Playground – complete with climbing wall.
In preparation for their next stage of education, children in Upper Prep will receive even more specialist teaching – including new subjects like Design Technology and Drama. And importantly, they will start to learn to organise themselves – moving between specialist classrooms.
Not only does this provide greater opportunity for learning, it also gives children the chance to flourish, developing an increased sense of confidence and self-reliance.
