It was AEW Dynamite with a Swerve Strickland-Christian Cage confrontation, Adam Copeland against Brody King, and more.

This episode took place at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The announcers were Excalibur and Tony Schiavone. No Taz due to some physical pain he is dealing with. Taz hopes to be back next week.

Adam Copeland was shown arriving. Cope said he talked to Tony Khan and Adam’s match will be a No Disqualification Match.

Match #1: Orange Cassidy defeated Trent Beretta by pinfall. Trent did multiple piledrivers but didn’t go for a pin. Trent exposed a turnbuckle, Orange did that too and Orange got a rollup for the win.

After the match, Trent beat up Orange on the floor with a piledriver on the steel steps. Trent gave Orange a catapult into the steel frame under the ring. Orange managed to get his hands on a steel chair while Don Callis (who was on commentary) went up to Trent and tried to stop Trent from using more weapons. Kris Statlander ran out wondering what Trent was doing while the referees were there also. Callis helped Orange to the back.

They showed The Elite’s Matt & Nick Jackson in a car with Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry. They were shown parking in the reserved spot for AEW boss Tony Khan, who is still in Jacksonville.

Kenny Omega was shown doing a promo from a hospital bed. Kenny said that the EVPs were his friends for 15 years and look at what they did to him. Kenny said what they did to him was business, so it got him thinking. Kenny said that Double or Nothing is five years since AEW started. Kenny made a match for Double or Nothing called Anarchy in the Arena with The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada & Jack Perry against four opponents part of Team AEW. Omega said that two men will be FTR’s Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler. Omega said their partners will reveal themselves soon.

Serena Deeb was interviewed by Tony Schiavone on the stage. Deeb said she missed 15 months after having multiple seizures, but she’s back because of her desire to become AEW Women’s Champion. The AEW Women’s Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm showed up to say that Deeb was a charity case and Toni threw money at her. Deeb said Toni should give a s**t and Deeb said she’s going to fight for her life. Storm said that she didn’t give a single, solidarity s**t about what Deeb has gone through. Storm tried a punch, but Deeb blocked it and Deeb punched Storm. Luther picked up Storm to help her to the back.

Match #2: Mariah May defeated Harley Cameron (w/Saraya) by pinfall. May won with a slam off the shoulders for the pin. Cameron & Saraya attacked May post match, but Mina Shirakawa made the save.

The AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland called out Christian Cage to try to get revenge after Christian and his group attacked Swerve last week. Swerve said he wasn’t there alone. The Mogul Embassy’s Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona stood behind Swereve. However, they decided to attack Swerve instead. The trio of Brian, Bishop & Toa beat up Swerve around the ring and then they did a double team spinebuster to put Swerve through the commentary table.

In the backstage area, Christian Cage was shown walking up to the Young Bucks, who had headsets on. Christian shook hands with them saying it was great working with them. Christian left while The Yong Bucks said this was a great show. Tony Schiavone summed it up saying we know The Young Bucks were behind that.

Jericho did a promo about being the For the World (FTW) Champion. Tony Schiavone interrupted to tell Jericho that Hook will be back next week on Dynamite. Jericho was happy about that.

Match #5: Adam Copeland defeated Brody King by pinfall to retain the TNT Championship in a No Disqualification Match. They got about 20 minutes and had a bloody brawl. Copeland won with a Spear.

After the match, Brody King attacked Adam, so Kyle O’Reilly ran out for the save. Adam & Kyle clotheslined Brody out of the ring.

Mercedes Mone was interviewed backstage. She talked about facing Willow Nightingale for the TBS Title at Double or Nothing. Mone said she’ll take the title and wipe the smile off Willow’s face.

Adam Copeland spoke to Kyle O’Reilly backstage. Adam thanked Kyle for the help. Kyle suggested a match this Saturday on AEW Collision in Kyle’s hometown of Vancouver and Adam accepted it.

During the overrun minutes of AEW Dynamite, The Elite’s Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Kazuchika Okada & Jack Perry did a promo in the ring. They accepted the Anarchy in the Arena match that Omega booked while wondering who FTR could get to be their tag team partners.

That led to the interruption from FTR’s Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler. They were joined by their Team AEW teammates “Mad King” Eddie Kingston and the returning Bryan Danielson, who was back after his incredible match with Will Ospreay at Dynasty last month. There was a wild brawl between The Elite and Team AEW. Referees and others ran into the ring to break it up. That’s how Dynamite ended.
