The best of my experience was meeting the people I’ve met along the way and the teachers that have inspired me to do more with my future. The worse part of the experience was less diversity and the staffs courage to encourage us to do great wasn’t to it’s fullest potential. I would like to see a lot more diversity, I’d like to see better enthusiasm and encouragement within the staff.
Centereach high school has the most amazing music department. While I could sit here and talk about academics or facilities, the music department in this school has the most incredible staff. The teachers in this department have pushed me through to become the best musician I could possibly be. The environment of the music department is welcoming yet challenging and encourages students who didn’t think they’d enjoy acting or singing to try out. They have amazing ensembles, musical productions, and inclusive events for students.
Centereach High School has been very welcoming during my time there. I moved to Centereach around middle of my sophomore year and I was nervous of how I am going to manage moving to a new place and a new school. But Centereach teachers, staff, and students have been very welcoming in helping me manage and how to get around the school. I’d like to give recognition to my science teachers who have been a great help for me in adapting to at Centereach High School. They’ve given me advice and support on what to do and to be successful at Centereach and for my future in college.
It is what you make of it. There are a vast majority of AP courses and college courses offered as well as electives. These can definetly make your courseload more academically rigourous. There are also many ways to get involved such as through clubs, events, and sports. The music, arts, cosmetology, and technology programs are very good. At my time at CHS, I have had a handful of teachers that have made a significant impact on me. There are also many ways to seek guidance and assitance with scheduling, conflicting, and general questions. The school does lack diversity and the food isnt the best but besides that my experience was not too bad.
I think it’s a good school. The staff gets the kids ready for college & for life!!The one thing I would be happier with would be to have Armed security! The way of the world today all schools need it!
Centereach High School has been a rewarding and overall positive experience, however there a few areas that I think can be improved. Personally, I have always felt like I had a safe place to go if needing assistance, as there are numerous teachers I speak with and my guidance counselor, who I can confide in and trust to provide me with helpful suggestions, advice and guidance. However, there are some areas of the school where improvement would be good for the betterment of all the students. Sadly, there are physical fights that occur among students which are disruptive and upsetting not just for the students involved but also for the students who witness the fight and/or know the participants. Although it does seem to have gotten better over the past few years, there are still incidents that occur. One way to possibly pervent the amount of fights might be having more faculty present in the hallways , cafeteria and gym to prevent as many altercations as possible.
my son and daughter enjoyed their four years at centereach high school. my son was in the band. both participated in the fashion show. I went to many plays and concerts
Being a senior here, I've seen it all. I've seen students get into bad habits, and I've seen students grow throughout the years that I've known them. This school and I have a love/hate relationship. The teachers here are great and supportive but I'm not gonna lie, there is only a little bit of diversity. There are many programs and clubs to get into like Drama, Art, SADD, BOCES, Cosmotology, and so much more. Not to mention, varsity sports teams are amazing at what they do! I rate this school 4/5 stars.
Overall, I'd say that Centereach oftentimes has teachers that are quite friendly and are a blast to get to know, but sometimes the teaching quality doesn't exactly line up with it. CHS offers a large number of AP courses, and most of the time the teachers are able to provide just enough to get by in the course, but in regard to actually excelling, this becomes a matter of self-discipline and self-studying.
As a student that was more involved with Centereach's STEM side of activities than most, the quality of clubs was relatively okay, with the options being the Robotics team, environmental E-STEM, Science Olympiad team, and Math club. While the options are there, the problem either becomes that the large member count incorporates a number of unmotivated students and thus leads to unproductive meetings, or the club suffers from a slight lack in resources and/or funding, and thus can't fully reach a competitive and enjoyable feel.

Centereach high school has many clubs and activities to include everyone. The school is big on sports and also the productions they put on.
My experience at Centereach High School has been interesting. Starting off freshman year fully online was difficult and took a toll on my work ethic coming straight out of the virus. The following year was a mess with half online and half in person. However, these challenges were not hard to overcome due to the accessibility of help from numerous teachers and counselors. With guided help I was able to restore my drive to do good and maintain a 4.0 gpa. Overall the experience was great with minor set backs but nothing that can’t be overcome.
My experience at Centereach has been overall amazing. The friendships that have made here are some that will last a lifetime. The atmosphere of the school is amazing. The teachers that I have had are so supportive and creative. The learning environment is great. My education has increased so much. The school is very diverse and inclusive and has many different events. There is really a club for everyone here. Overall my time at Centereach has been incredible.
A great school with great people. Diversity and clubs are the pro. Food and sports need improvements.
One of the strengths of Centereach High School is its academic programs. The school offers a wide range of courses, including Advanced Placement courses in subjects such as English, math, science, and social studies. These courses provide students with the opportunity to challenge themselves and prepare for college-level work. the school offers a variety of electives in areas such as art, music, and technology, allowing students to explore their interests and develop new skills. Another strength of Centereach High School is its extracurricular activities. The school has a number of sports teams, including basketball, football, soccer, and volleyball, with awesome coaches. They have clubs for interests such as drama, debate, and community service. Finally, Centereach High School has a supportive staff and faculty. Teachers are dedicated to helping students succeed and are available to provide extra help and support when needed.
Made a lot of friends, nice and helpful teachers, love bring part of cross country team, clean school, good learning environment.
It was an amazing school with a faculty and staff devoted to providing a well rounded education. I felt well prepared for a secondary education.
The teachers really cared about their students and made sure they did their best in order to graduate. Finding new people to be friends with was tricky but after a while it all works out
