This is a pretty good collection overall, featuring 20 hits and should've-been-hits from the voluminous Cat Stevens catalog, including cuts from the Harold and Maude soundtrack. But there are also important omissions here, like "Wild World." For that, you'll need to go back to the Tea for the Tillerman LP, or shoulder some overlap by getting the mid-'70s Greatest Hits package. It actually wouldn't be such a bad idea to snap up some original Cat Stevens albums--Tea for the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat are thick with hits, and each has a certain...cohesiveness that's lost when not heard in its entirety. --Gavin McNett

a lot of music here for not a lot of money. grabbed a used disc for a few dollars. already had most of the songs on other CDs but its nice to slam it in your car player and get quite a few hits and some other cat songs that slipped thru the cracks all on one disc. would reccommend

This collection is more of an artist retrospect of Cats pre Yusuf Islam era. Over an hour of songs covering his most productive period, 1970-78. Almost 25 years ago Stevens chose the 20 songs, best representing his various musical styles. So this compilation is authoritative enough for anyone wanting just a single Stevens disc for their music library. My favrite Cat Stevens song is "Tuesdays Dead" and this along with some of his less popular songs is what attracted me. There is a nice factual bio included, of what was known about him at the time of this issue. We all know that Yusuf Islam has been the subject of controversy especially after 911. This has diminished his over all popularity right or wrong.
