Been wanting to go here for years, so my son arranged the trip. Beautiful building, spacious and light. Every model is represented from production cars through competition cars, to purpose built vehicles like ambulance and military.
    We even had lunch there.

Another place I've been wanting to visit for ages. My son arranged it, and we actually went on the same day as we went to Mercedes. Beautiful building with all the cars laid out well, and a lot of pictures showing historical events. Great to see the racing cars.

We visited this zoo on a rainy day. There are a lot of indoor habitats and areas to visit. The zoo is very green and it is clear that the botanical garden part of the zoo has equal or maybe even more attention in this park than the animals. We have visited multiple zoos in Germany, and it can be a hit or miss in our experience. While this zoo isn't as good as some others, you can clearly see the investments made everywhere to improve. Will go back in a couple of years to see if this improvement makes it perfect.

If you do not see the square in reality, then you can imagine a square with a castle in the middle like Vincennes or the Bastille demolished by the sans-Culottes. Something like this probably happened before. At least there was a military platz, but that's in the distant past. The castle in the center that gave the square its name is baroque with elements of classicism and looks more like a palace, and the square can be called more like a Palace Square as in St. Petersburg. Fortunately, the grateful liberals of Stuttgart put the corresponding column in honor of King William, who granted them a bicameral parliament. Very nice fountains. In one of them the figures are original, and in the second the sculptures were stolen in 1945 in the confusion of the Franco-American occupation. If you look at the New Castle, then the art building of the Württemberg Art Association adjoins it on the left. Next to it is the Queen Olga building, favored by the Dresdner Bank. To the right of the new castle will be the Old Castle, next to which is a memorial to Colonel Klaus Stauffenberg, the organizer of the assassination attempt on Hitler in July 1944. Klaus' father held a high position at the court of Wilhelm II, the last king of Württemberg. Behind the back there are two buildings of the Konigsbau, built in the style of late classicism in 1855-1859. Behind the right is a partially transparent glass cube of the Art Museum, built on the site of the Crown Prince's palace destroyed during the 1944 air raid.

Great building to visit when the weather isn't great. You can spend a lot of time here. Not only is the building very impressive, but it also has a great collection of books in English, etc.

Killesberg is a great park and provides a wide variety of entertainment with al lot of bars/restos. They have a great tower from where you have a beautiful view on the park and Stuttgart. You can walk and also play. There are even flamingos. A recommended place to go to.

My husband and I were surprised to discover that the world’s first TV tower was built in Stuttgart. It’s a pleasant U-bahn trip from the centre of the city and then a flat 5-10 minute walk through woods to reach the tower.
The views from the viewing platform, even on a slightly cloudy December day, were gorgeous - we could still see quite some way in all directions. We liked the information panels telling you where other cities both in Germany and elsewhere were on the higher level.

This stretches from the main station for half a mile through Stuttgart centre. It's framed by department stores, cafes and restaurants and runs through the Schlossplatz, a large open space extending onto the "Neue Schloss" the previous residency of the King and royalty of Baden-Württemberg.
This part is a picturesque square framed by colonnaded buildings where food and other festivals, including the awesome Christmas Market and the Weindorf are held through the year.
Gorgeous in summer for shopping, chilling, local food, beer and proper German wine.

Wonderful exhibits about the archeological history of Germany - especially focusing on the Kelts, but also the Romans. Super nice cafeteria both inside the museum and in the courtyard of the Old Castle (really a palace, not a castle), which is where the museum is located.

We visited the Christmas market on a Sunday afternoon, The market is massive so be prepared to walk! Lots to see, rides for the kids, decorated stalls, moving characters, lots for Gluehwein (mulled wine) of different sorts to keep you warm. Go there with an empty stomach as you will surely want to try all the different food! Lovely light displays on the main square too. Definitely added to the Christmas spirit!

Absolutely spectacular steel construction on one of Stuttgart's most beautiful view points, located in Killesberg park, which offers other attractions as well (horticulture, miniature railway, concert stage).

Schloss Solitude is situated on a hill overlooking the city valley below. It's a beautiful and quiet spot. The tour is rather short and visitors are allowed in only with a guided tour. English tours are only available on the weekend. There is a restaurant on site and hiking trails behind the palace. It's worth a visit. I wish I had brought a picnic lunch so I could spend some more time outside enjoying the view.

Incredibly beautiful church with sitting places outside; a few benches. You can read and relax or just walk by, around, or even go inside.
