William Thomas Empire Magazine The idea of a serial killer marshalling an army of cultists is a scary one. The fact they're all obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe makes it considerably less so. Rated: 2/5 Nov 3, 2017 Full Review Andy Greenwald Grantland It turns out pushing the envelope solely to shock doesn't make something edgy; it makes it quite dull. Sep 16, 2013 Full Review Alan Sepinwall HitFix Success and quality don't always neatly overlap, and The Following is a show that's disturbing without actually being scary, and that approaches deep, dark subjects without having anything real to say about them. Rated: C- Jan 21, 2013 Full Review Randy Dankievitch Processed Media The Following is a forgettable, over-hyped bucket of violence against women, that tries to set itself up as a big conspiracy - that's not really a conspiracy at all. Rated: F Feb 20, 2020 Full Review Amie Simon I Love Splatter While I thought the pilot was pretty strong, The Following disintegrates a little bit more with each episode. Mar 12, 2019 Full Review Terence Johnson AwardsCircuit.com Kevin Williamson is one brilliant and sick man. Rated: 4/4 Aug 27, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

allen p Probably my favorite show of all time! Each episode keeps you on edge from start to finish! The flow of it is so unreal! Feels like Each moment needs your attention. Always something important is going on. I love Kevin Bacon and this show is one of the many reasons why! A must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/06/23 Full Review Amy S One of the best series I have ever watched every episode was exciting and kept you wanting more . I loved every minute the twists and turns thrown in amazing all the cast played their role amazingly I could watch this all again and seriously hope they bring out a series 4 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/05/23 Full Review Maricruz B Para mí una increíble serie! Muy buena Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Audience Member With a good basic plot idea and solid enough acting performances for the main characters and some of the supporting roles, the Following is sadly shamed by some less convincing performances and silly dialogue, and a constant over animated style where the editing, hand held camera, close ups and dramatic music gets too intense. It works but then doesn't. This could be so much better with a little balanced 'less is more' philosophy. Still, it's quite entertaining. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Late to the party, although this wannabe pretentious mess of a tv show is hardly a party to behold. Not scary, and with an annoying story of serial killer fetishism that gets dumber and dumber for every episode. Edgar Allan Poe deserves better than this absolute tripe. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Tim M Not bad, some highly implausible plot lines. Find myself saying "as if you'd let that happen". "There is no way they would let him do that" etc. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/20 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
