Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My daughter took me here for Mother’s Day. There are not too many seats in this cafe. The service was OK. The almond chestnut waffle was better than expected. The wild child vegan bowl was underwhelming because the quality of the vegetables was not even,...the brocoli and squash was good, the beets and tofu were not good.More

I have heard that this place is the best new thing now for healthy food in London. So I head there very enthusiastic after dropping the little ones at Gambado. Are you sure Mamma you want to go in there isn't it a bit loud?...They don't seem to agree. I say a hasty goodbye to the poor mama who is going to handle those five bundles of infinite energy and leave. I miss the Good Life. I must have been expecting a more apparent place. So I go back and this time I notice the logo and go in. It is packed. It is loud. It is gloomy. And it has a fridge on the left. I hate fridges. Why would a real healthy place have a fridge? The fridge is full of juices, half of which are sedimented. They have something called Coconut H2O. What is it? It looks like this chemistry experiment we did when we were little, we mixed two clear liquids together and got a white blob. No I won't have the white blobby thingy. I look again, they have something called Nut Mylk. I say what Nut is it? Not all nuts are the same. The man behind the bar, he does not have time for my questions,he is already looking at the next customer. Hey Secuse me (Secuse me always works Maya Rizkallah), what frickin nut is it? Cashew. Ok, I look at their board and they have an interesting looking smoothie. I will have the coco avocado with almond milk smoothie, the busy man shakes his head and tells me that the huge Chanel bag took the last one. The last one? Yes the last one, we cold press them the night before. Ok so you do not make fresh juices? They are fresh they are pressed the night before. Cold pressed. Already nauseating at the greed driven entrepreneur sweat oozing through everything in this place: Ok I will have Almond Mylk. We have Almond Mylk with matcha. Matcha is with everything now, like chia seeds and coriander, it is EVERYWHERE. I look at this matcha almond it looks dodgy, I also hate matcha, so no thank you. I will have the brownie. Eat in. I go to sit down no place to sit down all full of boho Chanels who have booked places for their other boho Chanel friends. I grab the brownie and head to the amazingly calm Starbucks next door.More

I went for lunch with a friend and we had the good life salad and the zucchini fettuccini. I was expecting the zucchini to be hot but it was actually cold and I think, raw, but it was ok. Neither of us liked the good...life salad. The dressing tasted horrible, and we left it. We also had to sit on stools which, for me, was not comfortable when eating. And because we were on the stools, like another reviewer said, we were knocked in the back by other people walking past. Not by staff on this occasion but by other diners. We went out of way to try this place but unless I'm in the area I won't be hurrying back, and then I'd try something else. I came away feeling disappointed.More

Went for some lunch with my friends ordered a smoothie and it came in a plastic takeaway cup with a plastic straw, when we said we were eating it in. The Ninja Turtle smoothie was bland and not great at all considering it was £6....i got a bowl which costs £12 was not expecting what I got in a plastic bowl for £12. All our food cam in takeaway containers and plastic cutlery. It is ironic that they say they are all environmentally friendly but yet they are running the planet. When we mentioned to the staff about the situation they said it was due to covid but I have been out to many places and this has not been the case. Due to our current climate emergency I don’t think we can carry on like this and allow cafes to do this when it is very unsustainable. It is ridiculous!More

Was very excited for my breakfast here, but was very disappointed when I received my smoothie and meal in plastic containers, with plastic cutlery, and a takeaway bag, even though we were eating in. When questioned they said it was because of Covid-19 but I...have been to several restaurants and cafes during this time and no other place has served the food and drinks in plastic. Very disappointed considering this place is earth concious with the main dishes being plant based. And the food was quite bland and expensive.More

The staff were nice and friendly, but we ordered a breakfast crosssint with egg, cheese, ham and pesto. It took 20-25 minutes, it was heated up as the cheese was melted and left to go cold before being brought to us. It was not tasty,...and cost 6 quid per croissant. Then with 2 coffees and an orange juice this was 24 quid for an unsatisfactory breakfast. Maybe the other meals were better but we won’t return unfortunately.More

The food here is overpriced and bland. Ordered a jerk chicken burrito and jerk chicken food bowl - both were tasteless and sadly we had to throw away and purchase lunch elsewhere. Hardly a sustainable option when the food is this bad. Thought we’d support...a small local business on at John’s word high St instead of going to one of the larger chains. Big mistake! Avoid this establishment.More

This has been in decline for a while. Totally tasteless food hiding behind very high prices. A simple request for well done poached eggs was completely ignored. When sent back I was told I could have cold hard boiled eggs instead.

We had a couple of overpriced salads which cost us £25. We asked for a couple of glasses of water with some ice because the water was warm , they told us they had no ice which was plainly a lie as they were putting...ice in the £6 smoothies . When we complained about no ice they really couldn't care less. I would really give this place a missMore

Don't be fooled by the photos on the website - avoid this place at all costs. Ordered burritos at £11 and a juice for £7(?!), waited 40 minutes despite being the only people in there eating food (used the disgusting toilet in the interim, which...also happens to be next door to the cupboard where the food is prepared in the basement) only to be served tiny wraps not fit for the borrowers, accompanied by a side salad of blackened lettuce... Staff seem annoyed to have you in there and weren't apologetic about the wait at all. Never again.More

We looked forward to an evening highlight under lockdown delivered by The Good Life Eatery. We knew it wouldn’t be cheap but we prepared for that. What arrived was shameful. The chilli and brown rice was pure tasteless mush. No trace of chilli, or indeed...anything. It was actually hard to identify. The sides of greens were unidentifiable slop. Please save your money any avoid this over-priced cash-in on real food.More

Shambolic is what comes to mind when you receive a cold slice of bread that is passed off as avocado toast and not even enough chilli flakes to get warmed up on a cold winters day. After that disappointment I was met again by the...passionless bar maid telling me there would be no tea as the coffee machine has broken down. When asked if she had a kettle she was stumped by my solution. I now sit here in this cold, emotionless hole..without.my cup of tea. My fiancés Açai bowl was good though.More

It used be my favourite restaurant with very tasty and fresh food. Unfortunately it went downhill. It wasn’t great last couple of times I have been there but today it was just horrible. They were serving only takeaway because they didn’t have water. I got...main bowl. It wasn’t possible to eat. Instead of brown rice they put white which was massively undercooked, basically almost raw rice. It was topped with burnt vegetables and tofu tasted sour, not fresh and was icy cold. That was really upsetting, they charged me for that dish 12.50! I will never go back there!More

My daughter, who has a cashew nut allergy selected the Jerk Chicken and Avocado sandwich from the menu. Alongside another item it was noted that it "contained cashew nut pesto" Given that this was NOT written along side the chicken and avocado sandwich we wrongly...thought this would be ok! Having eaten most of her food, my daughter became very ill. Regrettably this included vomiting from half way down the staircase leading to the washroom (abd kitchen adjacent) This was incredibly distressing for everyone. One of our party offered to clear it up but the offer was rejected. Whilst we should have mentioned the allergy (and there are signs asking us to do so) we didn't. All the above could have been avoided but here is my greatest concern. There was absolutely NO empathy for my daughter or the possible life threatening situation she was in. Incredibly, the mess on the stairs was not cleaned away (for over half an hour) and it was in sight of the kitchen where food continued to be served to customers. Having left the restaurant, my daughter was ambulanced to hospital where she stayed all evening. Bitterly disappointed with the treatment - or lack of - that we received and the horrible attitude.More
