Santa Monica is not cheap, so just commit to the fact that you'll spend $250/night plus. As a solo traveler I want to 1) feel safe and (2) walk to restaurants/cafes etc and this hotel provided both.
Hotel is two blocks from beach and the staff are super helpful. I stayed in October which I think was super quiet and as a iPrefer member I received upgrade to top floor with great views and sound of ocean at night. Note: The penthouse restaurant has moved to 2nd floor for outdoor dining. I did a walk through but did not eat there. I enjoyed the closeness to the beach, plenty of nearby restaurants to walk to, and great staff with recommendations for hiking and restaurants. Parking is pricey $55/ night so you can use nearby garage for $25/night or park on street up to 9 hours (space hit or miss). I parked and use scooters mostly except when I left Santa Monica. Enjoy!

While I understand that we should all be more gracious and understanding due to COVID, this hotel stay was not worthy of a supposed 5 star luxury property. One elevator was out - forcing guests to use the service elevator, There was literally no service - you had to go through the front desk to get towels, shampoo, etc. as the housekeeping staff could not be bothered when I asked her directly for these basic items. Despite touting their 24 hour fitness center, it was closed. Several of the features in the room, including the "cool" bedside tablet didn't work. I have stayed in several other properties in Santa Monica (Loews, Le Merigot) and I would recommend them instead.

We were less than impressed by our experience at the Huntley. The location is excellent for walking around town. The valet parking was pricey, but very friendly and prompt service. They allowed us to leave our car until about 2:30 on the day we checked out which was handy. Our tenth floor room was an adequate size with 2 queen beds although the bathroom was tiny. We planned drinks in our room to enjoy our ocean view. Found an ice bucket, got ice, only to find out we had no glasses. After calling the front desk and getting referred to 3 different extensions, we still had no glasses. The coffee maker was supplied with 2 hot cups which we used and rinsed out for the next morning's coffee. Not a 5 star experience.

Our stay at the Huntley Santa Monica Beach was amazing! The valet parking assistants were extremely nice , the gentleman at the front desk was super courteous and helpful through our entire stay , the hotel management and accommodations directors are on top of it they really know how to make you feel important and special. I proposed to my girlfriend 12/15/20 and she accepted! Our entire stay in the signature suit was spectacular, we were in a world of our own. it was nice to forget about all the stress and anxiety of daily covid life. We had a beautiful sight through our window we could see all the way to down town LA and the Santa Monica shore line. We felt so special and important the entire stay. The guest service is super fast when you need extra soap or shampoos. The hotel was clean trendy very ritzy and most importantly followed all coved guidelines and regulations. We felt safe and very satisfied will all aspects of our stay. Thank you to all the staff and management . We will be back !

We are so glad we chose The Huntley for our recent stay in Santa Monica. It is located on a lovely tree lined street just a short walk from too many restaurants to list, as well as the Santa Monica Pier.
The hotel itself is quiet attractive, and very secure. We were upgraded to an ocean view room through our credit card, and it definitely did have an ocean view, even if it wasn't directly in front of you. No craning of the neck involved. The room itself was spacious with a walk in closet and a good choice of seating.
A mini fridge was requested when we reserved our room, but it had to be moved in upon our arrival. The excuse was that the room we were originally booked for was not ready (it was after 3, so not sure why?). We also had an issue with the plumbing, which was resolved within an hour of our call to the desk. Aside from those two minor things, we cannot say anything negative at all about our stay.
We also got a $25 breakfast credit each morning. Given the price of eating at a restaurant in the area, it turned out to be a convenient choice and a pleasure to enjoy the incredible view, good food, and good service at The Penthouse restaurant for what it would have cost to have a simple coffee and pastry at an ordinary cafe.
This is not a hotel for a family looking for a beach resort. If you want that, you need to look closer to the Pier. This is definitely a place for business travelers and adults looking for a restful, pleasant, safe, quiet, convenient place to stay.
There is no question where we will stay on our next visit to Santa Monica. This was the right choice.

Our room, 1008, was large, clean and nicely decorated with great air con.
Beds were comfy and large.
Lots of USB charging points.
Well stocked mini bar and snacks although a bit pricy. Complimentary expresso coffee machine, ice machine and bottled water.
There was a large safe and great lighting system.
The bathroom was a good size and the shower powerful. There’s was also robes, slippers, hairdryer, side magnifying mirror and complimentary toiletries.
Great views and conveniently located.
We also had a walk in wardrobe that had a lot of draws, hanging space, iron and suitcase stand.
We used the laundry service which was reasonably priced and the items were returned quickly.
Room service was available but we didn’t use it but the menu looked great.
Parking was $55 per night which seemed normal.
For us, there were no negative aspects of our stay here.
We would highly recommend this hotel.

This was to be a couples getaway with my husband and graciously Akemj Nakamoto at front desk was very helpful and she got us an upgrade to a suite with partial ocean views. The one major issue we had was with housekeeping and after leaving a generous trip we felt that the room was not cleaned properly or set up like a luxury hotel that it should be. In addition our phone charger went missing and the excuse from hotel was that they thought that we had checked out wherein fact we had our luggage and everything still in the room. We were credited for the Charger expense but the experience and response left us with a not so positive attitude.

Words can not express the outstanding customer service received from these three ladies, Mandy Amini, Diane Nomura and Erin McGarry. They were the best to deal with for handling my teams stay at the hotel to making sure the conference room was to our standards while guiding with their knowledge on food choices. They upgraded my entire block to ocean view Premier rooms! What a great surprise! The rooms were clean, beautiful property. This was our first visit and we will definitely be booking here again. I highly recommend Huntley Hotel.

I had a amazing five day stay in one of the best rooms of the luxury hotels in Santa Monica. Not only did they match a deeply discounted room rate on hotel tonight, Blake (front desk) graciously booked me in a king deluxe on the 16th floor with panoramic views of the ocean and the palisades. The service staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. I will be back as I come to LA every New Years. I've stayed at the Fairmont and Shutters. The Huntley was an exceptional value for the experience.

We were extraordinarily surprised by our recent stay at The Huntley Santa Monica Beach, located just a block and a half from gorgeous Santa Monica Beach. The hotel has a very cool upscale vibe and the Malibu Suite exceeded all of our expectations. )The only criticism: the furniture almost sits on the floor. Uncomfortable for we elderly. ) the staff from the valets to the doorman to the front desk to room service were above any reasonable expectations. We needed a wheelchair on arrival the 2nd night and the hotel provided us one free of charge for the weekend.
The Penthouse Restaurant which also provides Room service were very responsive and professional. In fact, the 1st night we ordered the food was actually warm. (a pleasant change to our usual room service experience.
The night we dined there, the food was excellent with service to match. The views of the coast and the City of Santa Monica are unmatched.
The bar at the Penthouse has a formidable list of liquors with very reasonable prices for the selections offered.
