Celtic: Odsonne Edouard completes £14m Crystal Palace move as Giakoumakis, Carter-Vickers & Jota join

Odsonne Edouard has completed his £14m move to Crystal Palace, signing a four-year deal with the Premier League side.

And Celtic have signed striker Giorgos Giakoumakis, Benfica winger Jota and Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, the latter on two on loan.

Edouard netted 88 goals in 179 appearances for Celtic after joining from Paris St-Germain in 2017.

"Scoring goals in the Premier League may be the biggest challenge in my career," Edouard said.

"But I'm confident in myself and my team-mates to be successful."

The Frenchman formalised a move to Glasgow after an initial loan spell for a club record fee in excess of £8m in 2018, and won three Scottish Premiership titles and four domestic cups with Celtic.

New signing Giakoumakis, who has signed a five-year deal, finished as top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie last season with 26 goals for VVV Venlo.

The Greece international says he is looking to emulate his compatriot Georgios Samaras, who had a successful spell in Glasgow.

"I've watched a lot of Georgios' games and we worked together in Greece, he's now the president of OFI Crete, where I played for two years," he said.

"We've known each other for a while and we keep in touch, I've learned lots from him and that's made me even more excited to come and play here."

Celtic have an option to buy Portuguese youth international Jota at the conclusion of his loan spell next summer.

Carter-Vickers, 23, has also joined Celtic on loan for the rest of the season. The United States international has previously been loaned to six other clubs by Spurs.

Meanwhile, Ryan Christie has departed for Championship side Bournemouth as striker Leigh Griffiths also left on loan for Dundee.
