Hector “El Father” Delgado may have left his rapping days behind him, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of touch. In fact, Daddy Yankee recently attended the premiere of the former rapper’s biopic You Will Know the Truth.
“I’m excited that Hector was able to complete one of his projects,” Yankee said during the film’s premiere in Puerto Rico. “Now he can tell everyone how he became one of the best artists of his genre.”
Delgado became a reggaeton star in ’90s as part of a duo known as Hector and Tito, who were also known as Los Bambinos. After the pair went their separate ways, Delgado continued as a solo recording artist known as a key pioneering reggaeton entertainer who was signed by JAY-Z‘s Roc-A-Fella Records.

Eventually, Delgado left the music business and devoted the rest of his life to his Christian faith, which is explored in the new film. Upon arriving to the biopic’s premiere recently, the former rapper made a declaration.
“I don’t see this as a film,” Delgado said. “This a tool to help many find the road to salvation, because Jesus never forgets us.”
The 90-minute film explores Delgado’s life, from his darkest moments to serving a higher power and eventually becoming a pastor. The movie was made by Mar de Cristal Films, directed by Joel Antonio Colón and written by C.J. Lozada. The film will be distributed in the U.S. and Latin America, according to a spokesperson for the film.
