I'd almost forgotten this series, then I saw it on the Amazon site, and decided to send for it. I'm glad I did. Made in the 1960's, it's ancient, and thus it's in black and white, but that seems to add to the atmosphere. The characters go together well. You have to remember that this was made during an age where the unions ruled the roost. There's plenty of it in this programme, with Miriam Karlin as the Shop Steward, Peter Jones as the sweat shop owner, and Reg Varney as the foreman caught up in the middle of it. There's a very young Barbara Windsor in it as well. Well worth the money, if you want to see what working life was like 50 years ago. And plenty of good laughs along the way.

I viewed and enjoyed The Rag Trade as a child when TV first came to Australia and have always wondered why there were no repeat viewings on TV of late but to my delight I found your site and discovered that I could purchase it and now when I need a good laugh I have it at my fingertips.
