My family and I recently traveled from Va. to Tn to stay at Paris Landing State Park. We stayed in cabin #10. When we arrived we were very excited and tired. Check in was suppose to be at 4pm and we could not check in until almost 5pm. We had kids and groceries for the week's stay with a cold pack so the was very inconvenient. We we finally checked in I was horrified at the state of the cabin. The kitchen looked grimy and the refrigerator had not been wiped down it looked like from the last guest. There were dead bugs all over the window seal in the kitchen too. I had no choice but to put my groceries in the fridge as they had already been out for so long already. The carpet was ripped and extremely worn. The couches and chairs in the living room were DISGUSTING! I would not allow my children to sit on them until we put sheets over them. I also instructed my children to wear their shoes at all times do to the nasty carpets. The beds and linen were well worn and had no fitted sheets. I found several areas on the wall that looked like dried bodily fluids. Gross! The shower curtains had mildew on them. Also, the fire pit behind the cabin has poison oak growing on and around it. We were able to use the other fire pit near the front of the house thankfully. Raccoons were in the garbage and got trash in the yard every night. Soon after we arrived I contacted customer service and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with Kristi, I believe. She was extremely understanding but there was only so much that could be done. She sent the housekeeping manager out. They agreed that the refrigerator needed to be wiped down and offered to do so but I was not going to empty a fridge full of food. She agreed that areas on the wall should have been wiped down. She said they didn't use fitted sheets. I also brought up the grimy furniture and ripped carpet to which she said there was nothing they could do and I agreed. That furniture needs to be thrown away and replaced. We kept sheets on them the whole time. They replaced the shower curtains with new ones. Kristi offered to refund our money but at that point we were stuck. There was no where else we could find for a week's stay on such short notice. We decided to suck it up since the alternative was to go home to Virginia 16 hours away. We went to Walmart and bought bleach and bleach wipes and wiped everything down and washed all the dishes in bleach. Several things that were up to par were the bathroom linens, cable tv, and the views & location. I can't believe I spent $1200 on such a nasty cabin and that I'm out that money! The pictures on website must be quite a few years old and they are misleading. Also, I would like to let it be known that my 4 year old son came down with Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease while we were there. I'm sure I can attribute this to the uncleanness of the cabin. I am a nurse and immediately knew what it was! The poor child is still suffering from it 9 days later! The sad thing is that these cabins could be really nice if given some much needed TLC. I will not stay here again.

So I go to leave and I hand the key to the receptionist for our room 316 and she proceeds to tell me that my room is a blessed room. She kinda threw me off guard and really tried to draw me in for a religious discussion. It is 100% not appropriate, at a state park, to bring up religion and then try to preach to a good paying customer that has come all the way to Georgia to a state park in Tennessee and pay good money at the park. For a receptionist to try to start talking about religion to me and then be extremely rude when I refused to engage in the conversation is completely ridiculous. At the end of the day what is in the bible has nothing to do what is on a door number. Seriously this is ridiculous.

Very nice show from the Lake on a boat! Beautifully done and lasted longer than expected. Would be nice if had music on a radio station to go with it... (and may have, we just did not find it)

We visited Paris Landing State Park because our son was competing in a fishing tournament on Kentucky Lake. We were assigned Cabin 7 and overall it was quite nice and certainly met the needs of the 10 people in our group. One of the bathrooms (not the "master") needed a bit of TLC - mainly resealing where the tub met the floor. Water was hot and plentiful and we had plenty of pressure for everyone to get showers.

The deck and deck furniture were definitely showing their age and could've used a good powerwashing. The cabin interior was clean and the A/C worked very well which was good as the temps were in the 90's nearly every day of our weeklong stay. A bit of additional seating in the living room would've been nice for a group our size, but we used some dining chairs so everyone had a place to sit.

Everything in the kitchen worked well and was clean upon arrival. Plenty of bathroom linens were also provided throughout our stay. Bedrooms were clean and extra blankets were available.

Visited the pool at the Inn twice. It was very clean and offered plenty of lounge chairs. We had fun watching the squirrels and 'coons scampering around the cabins.

Didn't eat in the restaurant but the food certainly smelled good when we walked thru the lobby.

I would definitely recommend this Park and the cabins.

We had a large group here over a weekend for business meetings and exercises. This is a very large park with lots to do. Full size hotel, cabins, and restaurant all at a very reasonable price. they have multiple hiking trails and a nice marina. Lots of camping areas as well.

Took a group of kids backpacking and stayed in Cabin 6 overlooking the lake. Cabin exceeded expectations in every aspect except the price. Two nights ran $475 which is more than a suite in a 4 star hotel in many cities.

Three beds and two baths slept all 7 of us comfortably.

Highlights include ample towels, fully stocked kitchen cookware and eatery, cable TV, nice showers, clean cabin, nice furniture, updated Thermostat, smoke detectors in every room, CO2 detector, gas fireplace, great view, picnic table, fire ring, open split floor plan and high ceilings. Nothing shabby.

Expected threadbare furnishings and carpet and discovered a well cared for cabin. Friendly management. Had an issue with a smoke detector beeping after hours and they sent someone to us within 5 minutes.

Grounds are clean and we felt secure inside. Quiet. Cabin 6 and 7 overlook the lake. We backpacked starting at trail head of Fort Henry Trails which was less than 20 minutes drive.

This place is awesome! They have 10 rental cabins that sleep up to 10 people each. It has spacious floor plan with three bedrooms (2 bedrooms have 2 double beds and 1 bedroom has 1 double bed), two bathrooms, nice dining and kitchen area plus a large deck with patio furniture. They have a buffet that serves some very delicious food so you don't have to wander too far to find a meal. The cabin also has a well-stocked kitchen.

We also had a wonderful time with our unexpected visitors after dark. Each evening as many as five raccoons visited to see if we had anything to feed them. Also, lots of beautiful birds and squirrels.

You need to give this place a try!

**During our Feb 2018 stay, they were in the midst of renovations! We were pleasantly surprised at the progress.

It s a beautiful state park to visit, but you will not want to stay there.

Mainly because of service.

We had a large group and many rooms and they were more concerned about if someone came with a soda from "outside" than being nice.

We had to print a couple things (4 pages) and the attitude was one of inconvenience. That is just one example.

There was just a feeling of "have to" with all the staff.

The gentleman at the front desk in the evening was the most welcoming and happy person.

This state park is not friendly to most rigs over 30ft. No water front site's . Bathrooms need updating and so does laundry facilities .
