      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

With help from a strong performance by Leonardo DiCaprio as real-life wunderkind con artist Frank Abagnale, Steven Spielberg crafts a film that's stylish, breezily entertaining, and surprisingly sweet.

Namrata Joshi Outlook A hugely watchable film that disappoints nonetheless. Rated: 2/4 Jan 3, 2019 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Excellent account of FBI's youngest Most Wanted. Rated: 5/5 Dec 22, 2010 Full Review Geoff Andrew Time Out This is the director's most likeable film in ages, even if it's insubstantial, overlong and, frankly, a touch redundant. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand Spielberg beautifully creates the culture of the 1950s nuclear family shattered and the American Dream soured. Apr 8, 2023 Full Review Cory Woodroof Nashville Scene "[a] phenomenal Leonardo DiCaprio/Tom Hanks caper..." Nov 3, 2022 Full Review Jim Rohner Battleship Pretension Catch Me If You Can is probably one of the best films amongst Spielberg's minor titles, saying more positively about the man's talent than it says anything negatively about the film. Sara D "catch me if you can" starring Leonardo Dicaprio "catch me if you can" is a movie based on real events and it is about frank abagnale's story a swindler who avoids the police with his intelligence and different identities. In this movie frank abagnale is a young boy who pretends to be a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer while scamming banks out of millions of dollars with fake checks. Meanwhile an FBI agent named Carl Hanratty started to chasing frank to capture him. Eventually Frank and Carl developed a strange relationship of mutual respect and Frank started to work with Carl in the FBI. In this movie the performances by Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hanks are incredible, it is a exciting plot and the dinamic between the main characters are strong points. Also is a movie with comedy, a little bit of drama and has important topics to reflect on. "Catch me if you can" It's an entertaining movie. The story is well told, the actors did a great job It is impossible not to get caught up in the plot of suspense and emotion. i really recommed this movie because i think it has several movie genres in one. this is a movie that everyone need to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/24 Full Review Luan T "Catch me if you can" is an incredible true story with amazing characters and great pacing. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to unwind but also stay invested in the story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/04/24 Full Review Amir A Cool Crime Caper Which I First Thought It Would Be Boring However It Was Actually Interesting. Sure It's Not The Best Spielberg Movie Or Movie In General But It Sends A Good Message - Don't Do Fraud, Don't Live A False Life and Certainly Don't Chase Cos You'll Make It Worse Although-Leonardo DiCaprio Somehow Somewhat Worked It All Out In The End(Spoiler Alert 😁 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/01/24 Full Review Dilyana T Predictable and slow-paced the first 1.5 h, (I kept pausing it, thinking I’d been misled by a Leo Decaprio’s 29 films rating that rated it no 1, but resumed watching it for the brilliant Leo and for being a Steven Spielberg’s one) and then in the last 0.5 h some action and graceful twists of events followed fast that are hopefully truthful (after all it was based on a true story) although implausible. From the perspective of the 2020s it’s just a pale version of later masterpieces of the same genre of crime investigation, scams and frauds. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Chris H Great fun, even if it's hard to like Frank Abagnale Jr. Or is that jealousy? Di Caprio and Hanks are excellent, but Walken steals the show. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review Alec C How can one man pull off being a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer all into one? Frank Abagnale Jr. is a master forger and scam artist who manages to amass a fortune in forged checks, only for a driven agent to hunt him down, which causes him a lot of turmoil about how far is he willing to run. An energetic crime comedy based on the real criminal who outwitted so many people, we follow his journey as he slowly realizes that the life of a swindler is not as glamorous as it appears!
