The staff and amenities at PIER B Resort in the heart of Duluth ensured a relaxing and enjoyable get-a-way hassle free and without a hitch! Thanks for fixing my breakfast order free of charge, providing quality tap and bathing water (without odor or drying affect) and greeting us every time we entered the lobby. The rooms, common areas, and grounds at PIER B are more than a step above the competition when it comes to modern aesthetics, service, location, and ease. Now, we won't stay anywhere else in Duluth. Thanks PIER B!

We stayed for three nights, two of them were with Dine and Dream package (which was a great value). We dined at the hotel restaurant, made smoor's at the waterfront, enjoyed great location and views, and proximity to various point of interests; free parking.

The room and bathroom were clean, the mattresses and sleep were comfortable; the public areas felt clean and taken care of, the staff was welcoming and helpful, food was great. The Dine and Dream package was a great deal

Consider staying at Pier B, and check their promos!

Everything about the hotel was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were really nice, awesome views, all supplies we needed were provided, the rooms were very clean. I looked at reviews before staying at Pier B and after reading the reviews was a little concerned about the shower (a lot of people say it is a half shower door and water goes all over the floor). The shower is a half door but as long as you put one of the towel mats on the floor the water does not go all over and it is just fine! Not a big deal at all. The bar at silos had amazing bartenders.

Pier B is in a great location. It is a short walk away from Canal Park and has a boat club/rental on-site. The outdoor decor is great with patio, nightly music etc. The restaurant is not bad either.

However the room that we were in left a lot to be desired. We were on the pet friendly 2nd floor with a balcony. Upon check in, we found our room was full of pet fair - on carpets, bed, curtains and even inside the mini fridge. The coffee maker was dirty too and the hair dryer was missing. Even after sanitizing and cleaning it ourselves we had to ask for room service to come in multiple times during our first night of stay.

To give credit where due, the staff was helpful and tried to make amends. However the cleanliness left a lot to be desired and if one adds the nightly rate paid for staying here, it falls far below expectations,

The convenience, outward show and decor are great but I was paying for clean rooms first and patio seating later.

We reserved our room through a third party so I will not blame this resort for any of that trouble and in fact the front desk was wonderful. Unfortunately after that it was down hill. They gave us a room that the desk person gushed over how great it was and we were given an amazing price. We go into the very dark room. I open the blinds and our first "view" is an unmade bed, over flowing trash and bath towels piled on the floor. In a nut shell a dirty room. We head back to the front desk and are told there are no other rooms but they will have this one ready in 30 minutes. We wait. When we got our room it smelled of bleach and it looked clean. When I pulled back the comforter you could tell the sheets had not been changed. We pulled up to bottom sheet and decided to stay (we paid $350). For dinner we googled the Silo menu. It looked great. When we wanted to eat we are told the only food offered is a BBQ outside for $10. We head out into a cold (not ice cold but chilly) parking lot. The food is buffet style on warming plates...again cold outside with only outside seating. Day two we leave our room at 11:45am with a "please make up our room" we return at 6 pm to a dirty room. Our "amazing view" is the water and patio with every person outside free to look in to our room.

No one can say that the outdoor areas of this hotel aren't fantastic. I am a Duluth native and loved the location and unique view of the bridge & canal. We stayed 5 nights and loved our time spent outside near their fire pits, staring at the lake and riding the free bikes & pedal cars. Inside, however, was another story. We stayed in a Family King room so all 5 of us could have a bed. My side of the king bed was so soft I came home with a sore back from basically sleeping in a hole all week. Our room had one small chair at the desk but no additional seating besides that. All of our time in the room was on our beds because there was no other seating area. Also, the rooms have trendy sliding barn doors for the bathroom doors. Cute, right? Not so cute when you'd like some privacy and there are 1" gaps on either side. (aka their BATHROOM doors do not shut tightly.) No microwave...how family friendly is that? Also, no laundry in the hotel. Traveling for nearly a week with 3 kids is going to create some dirty laundry...my husband and I had to go to a laundromat in Superior to get this job done. I appreciate that they are not offering housekeeping at this time but they should send you what you need in one trip. Their ammenities bags have towels for 2 people...why would you send that to a room with 5 occupants? Food at the Silos was mediocre at best and the service was slow (45 minutes) on a weeknight for food we picked up to eat outside. I filled out the survey the hotel sent after our stay and never heard a word. For the cost (especially for their family king room) this hotel isn't worth it and that breaks my heart. It could be so amazing.

Where to start? During our visit to the North shore we decided to stay our final night at we would consider a fancy hotel. We typically spend $100-$150 per night on a hotel. This hotel was $300 per night. The night started by having dinner in the restaurant. We waited almost an hr to get a table which was understandable with Covid going on. However after getting seated and finally ordering, the wait to get the food took almost an hour with out the waitress retuning to fill our drinks. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. I ordered the walleye on rice that was supposed to have a sauce on it. The wallet was cold and had no sauce. Basically just broiled walleye on dry rice. Plus this was one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. Next, they offer s’mores kits where you can cook them over the provided campfires outside. Unfortunately there were so many people that no fires were available the entire night. This was disappointing but we thought maybe we would just microwave them and eat in the room. Well guess what, no microwaves in the room. This was something special for the kids that they couldn’t enjoy. Next, the kids were excited for the pool and hot tub. Unfortunately like the fires, they were packed all night and due to capacity issues we we not able to use them. Next, was the fact that the fridge did not work. We went to the local grocery store to get food for lunch the next day and packed the fridge full only to discover Two hrs later that it was not working. I was told by the gentleman at the front desk that he could get us a replacement in the morning. Well that didn’t do us any good. I also vented to the gentlemen about paying $300 and not being able to use any of the amenities listed. He ensured me that he would get with the manager and get us at least some compensation. Well guess what, a 2 weeks went by and I never heard anything. I then decided I would answer their survey that they email out and now it’s men 2 month later and still no response. Very unprofessional. I should’ve stayed at the nearby Hampton inn and saved $200.

Nice newer hotel with great views of harbor. Nice outdoor hot tub with view of harbor. No complimenary breakfast and restaurant attached had average food quality and overpriced. No curtains around shades so light gets into room as soon as sun comes up.

My partner and I arrived at this resort from 1/5/20-1/7/20 for a leisure trip. We were greeted by a condescending and rude attendant at the front desk, irritated that we reserved using a travel agency website to book the hotel and refused to alter our price for a proven military discount. Later, we requested for a specific bottle of wine to be delivered to our room. No price or brand was offered, and a bottle of $28 wine was given to us requiring a $5 tip and tax fee, not what we expected or were informed of. When scheduling their "complimentary" shuttle service, we were rudely greeted by the same full-time employee we first encountered by a statement expressing his extreme frustration for us being a few minutes late. In addition, we asked the front desk where we could purchase some bottles of water since they were not complementary (unusual). Our options were at the gift shop ($2 per bottle) or the vending machine (same price, though the attendant told us the wrong floor the vending machine was on (which drove us to check every single floor that existed at this hotel (it's on the third floor, not second). Overall, the staff was unprofessional, the customer service was unsatisfactory, and I will warn others to stray away from this hotel for this reason since it inhibited our experience immensely. We felt demeaned and unimportant by the staff. Although, the room was clean (some mold across the ceiling??), housekeeping was prompt and the building was quiet. The hot tub was wonderful, but there was sand on the bottom of it... not sure how long or how it got there since it's January. Overall, unimpressed for the price we paid for this 3 star resort. There are other hotels that are closer to town, walking distance to restaurants for a cheaper price that will be much more worth the effort.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the experience you had while staying with us. Our sincere apologies for falling short and not giving you the best possible service while you were here. If you wouldn't mind reaching out directly to the property we would really like to make this right for you as this is not what our expectations are or the level of care that we would ever want to see a guest given. Again, thank you for letting us know so that we can address this. We appreciate your feedback.

3 couples went, 2 got down graded due to over booking, very disappointing. Parking is awful, very long walk for whoever parks the car, in blowing wind and snow, shuttle van parked out front of the entrance didn't move the entire time, could have been running people back and forth. Room floor looked as though it had not been vacuumed, head board of bed, cracked and broken, rolling barn door on bathroom wouldn't stay closed, no shower doors just open area. We have stayed in much cheaper, much nicer rooms. Food is over priced and nothing special, would recommend eating off site. Hot tub was nasty, stuff floating by while trying to relax, water very salty. Tried to sit around outside firepits but nothing shoveled and chairs frozen, it was not during a snow storm either just a typical winter night in Duluth. We live in the area and thought it would be nice to try it out so we could recommend it but will not, to anyone.

We appreciate your feedback and will make sure to share this with our Team Members.
