This film review writing template resource is great for your class to analyse a movie they have watched.
A versatile template and can be used for a number of classroom exercises and activities.
It could be used as a 'getting to know you' exercise by getting your students to write about their favourite movie, or have them review one which you have watched as a class.
Once you have the results in, why not create a review board? Pin the completed writing a review templates up next to each other to create a wall of reliable recommendations - never be stuck for movie-watching inspiration again!
Go a step further and turn the reviews into role-plays - ask students to interview their favourite actors and directors. One student could play the roving red-carpet reporter, another the Hollywood megastar. Are they proud of the film they'd just made? What do they like about it? What do they hop an audience might get from it? A great way to bring the glamour and glitz of the movies to primary school classrooms.

As well as helping children to work on their writing and English skills, this resource can also act as an introduction to persuasive writing.
It will also help your child learn how to express their opinions and examine their own likes and dislikes which are excellent skills both inside and outside of the classroom.
They'll have to assess a film and think critically about its elements. What did they think of the plot? Were the characters compelling? Helping children think about stories in this way will help them in their own writing, particularly when structuring stories. Why not use this with ESL students to develop their English skills?
