As a Discogs train spotter, this is the third release ever entered on the site, and the very first CD! and like the first two, it features Swedish Techno, KAB as well as The Persuader (see release #1,The Persuader - Stockholm). Release #2 was Mr. James Barth & A.D. - Knockin' Boots (Vol 2 Of 2). I'm happy to have these three myself. Excellent taste Mr. Founder, teo 😄

A perfectly mixed selection of wonderful tracks, a timeless mix that will be good forever.
This is the first "electronic dance" album that I bought, I still play it and I'm happy to see that it's also the third record saved in Discogs database.

I first owned this piece on an "original" cassette, and got it in 1999. Mr. Wink hits all the right spots as he takes us on an unforgettable journey through all things techno/house in the span of mere sixty minutes. all hail!

Josh Wink takes you on one of his journey's, abbreviated to fit on a mix cd. Typically you would expect to embark on this trip for upwards of at least 4 hours, but Wink manages to keep the integrity of his sets in the limited time. He also drops his a cappellas all through out the mix to spice things up.
Early on he starts off with deep, dubby and minimal grooves that have that hypnotic feel to them. Especially the Persuader and Gez Varley tunes.
He skillfully mixes that into more housey territory where he masterfully starts raising the intensity of the mix. The Dj Dozia and Blaze tracks are the standouts.
By the time "Black Odyssey - Sweat" hits, he's got you bobbing your head to peaktime techno grooves of Christian Smith & John Selway, Sound Associates and Percy X.
Josh Wink once again proves why his dj sets are memorable by blurring the lines between house and techno.

Does anyone even care that this wasn't a mix done on turntables? Well, I hope not. Some of the tracks in this mix are ultra-rare or at very least hard to come by and Josh mixes them as he has done in countless live sets. I think that's why I like this mix so much; I hear in this mix what I heard in various live sets and it's just awesome to know that he has that kind of control over his music.

The track selection flows and is nothing but short of, shall I say... epic? For minimal & techno this is as epic as it comes.

I love Josh Wink and I think this mix personifies his live performance. I'm sure you'll agree.
