1.0 out of 5 starsThis movie is a dishonor to Army and Marine Corps infantrymen/women everywhere

As a retired Marine Corps infantry officer, I found this mess of a movie a travesty and disgusting. Not every grunt who served in Iraq and Afghanistan have PTSD and in fact the vast majority do not!! To suggest that these two soldiers would dispose of their comrade in this way and not ensure that he received the preparation, ceremony, and return to his family that he deserved paints a disgraceful and false picture of what happens within infantry units. One star is far too high and further words are wasted on this horrible depiction. Don't watch, especially if you served, it will make you sick.

5.0 out of 5 starsIraq War Vets will relate to this movie
Wow that opening scene when the IDF alarm blares practically had me jump out of my seat. Having served 3.5 years in Iraq myself, I can relate to a lot of what this movie showed. I disagree with the other reviewers, I thought this was pretty decent in showing the mental struggles we went through while in Iraq and the terrible time a lot of us have had adjusting back to the civilian world afterwards. I suppose for those non-veterans it’s hard for them to relate to this, but I liked the movie. It did remind me a lot of the Hurt Locker. That sense of feeling lost, alone, and just not sure of which way is up or down. There are certainly worse movies you could rent but this isn’t one of them.

1.0 out of 5 starsWaste of time. Anything you pick to do will be better than watching this.

This movie is so bad there’s not enough space to write all why. Implausible plot line, no military advisor so they just guessed, impossible conclusion.

1.0 out of 5 starsWTF, over.

The filmmakers bviously couldn't be troubled to hire a military advisor even vaguely familiar with the Army, or they had some dbag with a phony resume that landed the job.

Too many issues to list. Painful to watch. Stopped after the first 15 minutes. Yes, I'm an Army Infantry combat veteran, Iraq War.

1.0 out of 5 starsSad example of Holywood VietNaming our Vets

Producer trying to cash in on PTSD with poor story and overused melodrama to create a stereotypical combat Vet.

1.0 out of 5 starsway tooooo slow

One goes through 95 minutes of slow scenes, slow dialogs, horrible excruciating music and unrealistic military attitude to get to a very improbable if not just flat out stupid conclusion
Toni Colette and Jennifer Aniston are to good to pick this kind of movies

5.0 out of 5 starsE for effort.

This was a nice attempt at telling a realistic story. However, it wasn't. There were so many errors in detail it made this hard to watch. I truly believe there was no Military adviser on this set. Even Kevin Powers states that his book wasn't a first hand account of what happened to him. This is evident in the countless plot holes and story line that made no sense. Now, I'll not spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen this, but if you're looking for an accurate depiction on the Iraq GWOT, You've come to the wrong place. Disappointment doesn't even begin to describe this movie, and yes, I'm an Iraq/Afghanistan war Veteran.

5.0 out of 5 starsImpressive movie and the plot unfolded as the story went on...

I thought that the acting was excellent and the five stars are for realism...I am a Vietnam Vet and I remember incoming all too well...Jennifer Aniston did a remarkable job. What a brutal tale, but while I never condoned people that that went AWOL, in a land like that the enemy sees things much differently and their goal is to mess with your mind and in this case, trying to escape your mind go him brutally maimed...not put in a hospital or discharged for being AWOL.
